Food was good and the meat tasted fresh, which is obviously the most important part of a Korean BBQ experience. But nothing to rave about.
They bring over some rice to enjoy with the meat with the regular choice.
The menu and options are a bit confusing and took some time to understand.
The vibes initially felt a little off, especially when we arrived around 9:50 pm—they took a while to confirm whether they would seat us even though they close at 10:30 pm.
That said, once we were seated, the experience completely turned around. Our waiter provided some of the best service I’ve had in a long time—attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome.
Plenty of feee parking outside.

Had an amazing experience at Gen]! Our server, Jayden, went above and beyond. Super attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. They were quick with recommendations, kept our table well-stocked, and made the whole meal feel effortless and fun. Seriously, Jayden made our dinner that much better—highly recommend asking for them if you go!

The service was impeccable. If you come ask for Kai, he is the best around. The service is phenomenal. I didn’t have tk ask for anything, Kai was always right there making sure everything was perfect. Could not have asked for better service from Kai and the manager Justin. Justin gave us a fantastic introduction to the menu and way things were done here. Just took it home. If you come to eat, you should pray that Kai is working. The best server I’ve had in years.

Listen… I want to go right now! I’m honestly about to tell my husband we need a date night because GEN Korean BBQ is THAT good.
We’ve ordered from both the premium & regular menu before and you can’t go wrong either way. With the premium menu, we shared sake, plus had two additional drinks and still paid less than the regular menu at JOA Korean BBQ in Dallas. And somehow, the food at GEN was significantly better. Make it make sense… but also don’t change a thing.
The food is fresh, flavorful, and consistently hits every time. The meats were high quality, well seasoned, and cooked beautifully. And can we talk about the green tea salt? I put that on everything. Absolute favorite. Also… hands down the best kimchi I’ve ever had. I didn’t even know I liked kimchi like that until GEN. I started craving it days later. That’s how you know it’s real.
The drinks? STRONG. Doesn’t matter what you order, they do not play around. Menu and pricing were super straightforward and easy to understand, which I really appreciate.
Service is always great. The wait is usually minimal, and even on busy weekends, we’ve only had to wait once. Staff is attentive without hovering, and the overall vibe is just right.
10/10. No notes.

Well when we first walked In there are 2 hosts and neither really bothered to say hi or start to help us. One was just wiping menus down and never turned around. We were sat pretty quickly. Our waiter was decent and the food I thought was very good. Pricey if you want all the meats but defiantly worth trying out if you haven’t yet.. I prob wont eat there again soon but it is good enough for a return trip .

We usually go up north for kbbq but decided to stop by on a Saturday night. This place had a good menu of meats and side items / appetizers. Everything was pretty good and came out fast. I like how big the spot is and had a chili vibe. They did take a long time to get us seated and then we waited for another 10 minutes without anyone attending us, not a big deal but felt long.

I’ve honestly never had an experience like this before. I was seated around 7:40, a waiter didn’t come to my table for about 10 minutes. This wasn’t my first time here so I knew what I wanted and ordered 3 items. Two appetizers came around 8:07; I had also ordered meat to be cooked but by 8:40 with nothing on my burner , my waiter came over apologizing saying they were “backed up” and asked if i wanted to order anything else, I told him “ I want to leave”. I would have been okay if parties seated after me hadn’t received their orders sooner than I had, I was dining alone!
I love visiting Gen but I think it’s time to try new places.

This was my first time ever coming to a kbbq spot, and it was an amazing experience. Our waiter Kenny, made it so much easier, he would recommend us what to get and we loved everything that was served to us! Looking forward to coming again.

Jayden was such a great server. He was attentive without hovering, kept our drinks filled, and checked in at the right times without interrupting conversation. He knew the menu well and gave solid recommendations. Everything came out correct and timely, and he made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed. You can tell he actually cares about doing a good job. We’ll definitely ask for him again.
