I’ve been going to Gemüt over the years since they first opened and have to say it’s always a pleasant experience. I’ve introduced my parents and friends from out of town over the years and always love sharing this gem with them. Even though I live in Michigan now I still like to stop in when I can and the seasonal menu always impresses me.

The atmosphere will always be my favorite. I’ve seen multiple friends get married here and the memories will always be amazing due to the owners attention to detail and planning. Highly recommend this Columbus gem!

Gemüt Biergarten is one of my favorite restaurants in Columbus. They have great German food, excellent sides, quick service, and truly excellent beer. Though a meal and a liter on draft here can be on the pricey side, it’s worth it to be a regular.

If you really like the beer and want to bring it home, Gemüt has individual cans you can buy. Additionally, I’ve seen them for sale at Littleton’s in Upper Arlington and at the North Market downtown.

There are three seating options at this location: an indoor bar, an indoor mass seating area with wooden picnic tables, and an outdoor area with rows of tables alongside a gazebo.

Like many places in Columbus, there is a free parking lot, and while the lot is sizeable, expect it to be pretty full outside of regular hours. This restaurant sits near the corner of Broad and Parsons, so reaching it via COTA’s bus service is worth a shot.

It seems like every time I travel through Columbus, I find another German place to try. I have had me eye on this place for a year or so.
I started with a beverage and I went with The Sow of Sunna Marzen. It was really good. I typically order stout, but when at a Biergarten, go with a German.
For dinner … a Reuben and Kasespatzle. I do not know what the difference is between spatzle and kasespatzle, but the kasespatzle was delicious. The Reuben was OK.
The bartenders were great … very friendly!
Looks like it would be a fun place for a group of friends!

Firstly this place is quite stunning in large part due to the lovely stained glass windos all along the bar wall. The menu is not particularly large, but the food is always quite good ( I had a Reuben), and the beer is delightful! A very German beer list (not your usual amount of IPA selections). I had a Pils and it was crisp and Delicious. Prices were quite reasonable. It can be a bit noisy as it is a traditional beer hall. Lovely place!

Went on a Friday and had to sit at the bar to order food because the indoor dining area was mostly full (this is a “seat yourself” establishment). I felt the bar service was great in terms of drinks, but the entrees were overpriced and I was expecting everything to taste more fresh.

The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was comfortable. I can fairly say that the service was not bad, but not excellent. They bring your food and drink. If you’d like water they point you in the direction to get it yourself at a station they have set up inside. The person who brought the food was very nice but, the person who brought the drink seemed bothered by our presence. We sat on the patio where you can conveniently scan the QR code and order. We ordered but did not notice that it auto selected an almost $30 tip. I will say that I would just hope that it went to the server who was nice to us. My family and I thought it was a really cool concept in a comfortable environment and the patio vibes were awesome. Thank you to Chelsea for taking my call and being so professional and polite.

Great German spot in Old Town. Excellent selection of beers, radlers, wines and other beverages. Beers available for take-away.

As good as the beverage choice are, the food choices are excellent as well. There is a brunch menu on Saturday that has some really delicious choices. Have to give a solid gotta-have-again the fried potatoes that they serve for brunch. I could have had just a heaping plate of those with some gravy on them (maybe a German poutine should be on the menu?). The wife said that her prosciutto toast was excellent – not sure myself, only got a crumb of bread from it.

Good service, seating is beer hall style, and quite a bit of room in the place. Giant wall of mugs for regulars.

Came here for casual birthday celebration and it was great! The beer was all good, atmosphere is friendly, and loved the stain glass and mug wall. The food was all pretty good, but the schnitzels could stand to have more flavor. We LOVED the pastrami wings. We are wing people and were taken completely off guard. High chairs are clean, sauerkraut rocks. We went on a Sunday evening and it wasn’t busy during dinner time. Would definitely come back.

Curry wurst!!! Great place. We had a special event there. Staff was totally awesome. Their theme is “Bier flavored Bier” and they deliver. Had a Dunkel and a Pils. Both were very good examples of the style with great flavor, served in proper glassware, and honestly very refreshing.

Food was really good. We had kraut balls (meat warning! Yummy) and wings plus salad and roasted veggies. Oh and if course… The best Wurst!!

Thanks for a great evening. Great experience and I’ll go back happily!!

Amazing ambiance with a great German feel. Beer is great, staff is very friendly. Food is delicious. Biergarten is beautiful especially with good weather, but when it’s colder they do have a tent up.

As most people have mentioned, the stained glass is beautiful. The main possible downfall (for me personally) would be if you are into sports and want to go somewhere to watch a game, as there is only 1 TV. But lots of communal tables for socializing and playing games.
