The atmosphere will always be my favorite. I’ve seen multiple friends get married here and the memories will always be amazing due to the owners attention to detail and planning. Highly recommend this Columbus gem!
If you really like the beer and want to bring it home, Gemüt has individual cans you can buy. Additionally, I’ve seen them for sale at Littleton’s in Upper Arlington and at the North Market downtown.
There are three seating options at this location: an indoor bar, an indoor mass seating area with wooden picnic tables, and an outdoor area with rows of tables alongside a gazebo.
Like many places in Columbus, there is a free parking lot, and while the lot is sizeable, expect it to be pretty full outside of regular hours. This restaurant sits near the corner of Broad and Parsons, so reaching it via COTA’s bus service is worth a shot.
I started with a beverage and I went with The Sow of Sunna Marzen. It was really good. I typically order stout, but when at a Biergarten, go with a German.
For dinner … a Reuben and Kasespatzle. I do not know what the difference is between spatzle and kasespatzle, but the kasespatzle was delicious. The Reuben was OK.
The bartenders were great … very friendly!
Looks like it would be a fun place for a group of friends!
As good as the beverage choice are, the food choices are excellent as well. There is a brunch menu on Saturday that has some really delicious choices. Have to give a solid gotta-have-again the fried potatoes that they serve for brunch. I could have had just a heaping plate of those with some gravy on them (maybe a German poutine should be on the menu?). The wife said that her prosciutto toast was excellent – not sure myself, only got a crumb of bread from it.
Good service, seating is beer hall style, and quite a bit of room in the place. Giant wall of mugs for regulars.
Food was really good. We had kraut balls (meat warning! Yummy) and wings plus salad and roasted veggies. Oh and if course… The best Wurst!!
Thanks for a great evening. Great experience and I’ll go back happily!!
As most people have mentioned, the stained glass is beautiful. The main possible downfall (for me personally) would be if you are into sports and want to go somewhere to watch a game, as there is only 1 TV. But lots of communal tables for socializing and playing games.
