They position themselves as not a super premium pizza place but nicer than any chain, and they do that exceedingly well. While the big chain places in town seem to compete to see who can make the worst customer experience possible, gelsosomo’s continues to be the benchmark for quality and service in town.
Ive never eaten anything here that left me going “meh”, its always notably good, it always surprises me, and its the go-to in my head for just objectively good pizza.
Been coming here since I was a kid 20+ years ago and ill be going here indefinitely

Stopped here after visiting the Indiana Dunes. Our server was super nice and attentive, despite working multiple tables. We got a deep dish pizza and the stuffed spinach pie. Both were very cheesy and tasted great. We are not from the area, but we would eat here again if we were closer (especially after some hiking).

Ordered pickup on a Friday night. Food was ready in under a half hour and still hot when we brought it home. I dare say the deep dish was better than any competitors in Chicago. Absolutely delicious and tons of leftovers.

Food is amazing, and our server Stacy was fantastic. We got the house special Popeyes Stuffed Spinach Pizza and it was great! Highly recommended if you like spinach.

Carry out. Ready when I showed up, before the 30 minute pickup window. Friendly cashier. Not the place for you if you like traditional pizza ( N.Y.) style. Round pie but cut in squares. Shelf life stinks too, don’t let it cool down at all. Sauce is good but the cheese is like nothing I’ve ever had and that’s not a compliment. I hear people rave about their speciality pizza, but I’m not into bells and whistles. I prefer simple high quality pizza ingredients. Not trying to recreate the wheel. Pricey too.Was in the area and thought I’d give them another try.

I had ordered a medium stuffed pizza with ham and mushrooms. It was a 20 dollar menu item, not bad. My complaint is after about the second or third piece I noticed there was hardly any toppings or filling inside. I checked some other pieces and were the same. Very small bits of ham and a few mushrooms in the whole pizza. Very little sauce and the cheese had pretty much melted out.The crust was good but that’s about all it was. Now, I’m not one to usually complain about food but I made a comment to our server and she sent the manager over. The manager did take off 4 dollars from the bill which I appreciated but it still didn’t give me what I ordered and I didn’t want to send it back and wait longer.
To me, this falls on the manager. Either tell the kitchen about it or quit telling them to rip customers off. I know businesses are tightening the belt right now but this is unacceptable. If I choose to spend money at a restaurant, give me what I order. I would gladly pay the 20 dollars than 16 for bread sticks. I would recommend eating here but stay away from the stuffed pizzas. They are obviously slipping this by the customers. I had this same issue at the Valpo location a year ago so it must be restaurant policy for this particular menu item.

Just had a birthday party for my daughter here in one of the banquet rooms. I had told them what food I wanted a couple days before the party per THEIR request. They asked me what time I wanted our food to be done by I told them 3:15. The actual day of the party i arrived at 2:15 ish. I didn’t expect to set up early but I went in to ask if I can give them the ice cream to put in the freezer until it was time to have it later. Our food didn’t come out at 3:15. I ordered pizzas , wings, salad, breadsticks. Our salad, wings and breaks sticks came out first but not at the same time. The food was so spaced out the wings & breadsticks got ice cold before the pizzas even started coming out. I ordered 5 and those came out 1 and 2 at a time. It was NOT ready when I asked. Some of our wings we ordered weren’t even completely done. When it came time for the ice cream and cake, our ice cream was literally liquid. They never even put it in the freezer like I asked. The service was very nice but so slow because they know they are getting a tip regardless. They did not have enough people on the floor helping bc there were multiple parties at the same time. We even gave them additional tip on top of the gratuity. Very very disappointing!

Ordered for catering services, was told that I can pay at pickup and wasn’t requires to pay before services. They confirmed the order a week before my event, then day of they call requiring payment before making my order, completely missed parts of my order, and they didn’t even have enough when they originally said it wouldn’t be a problem. Horrible Service , Disgusting, Old , Cold Food SERVED, 2.5 hrs for a table of 5 , 1 appetizer, 1 small pizza , 1 kid pizza ,1 kid chicken tender, Hamburger and Italian beef!!! They puck and choose who they are going to get their food first regardless of how you cane in and we’re seated!! DAMN Manager not in sight and never bothered to even acknowledge the situation at hand! The server came to our table after 1.5 hours and said sorry were backed up because were busy on the to go side!! The worst part the 3 tables that came in after our party of 5 had bigger parties and they were taken care of, served, ate, paid and left as we waited patiently still. This is me being nice

We booked one of the rooms for a birthday party on 11/30/25. It was great. The pizzas were so tasty. The room was very clean and set up perfect for a party. The service was impeccable. Highly recommend Gelsosomos.
