In early 2022 Brother-in-Law’s, Joe Lewis and Mike Lamson, decided they wanted to bring their love for quality, authentic, city food to the Burbs…queue Gazzos Steaks!!! While Joe and Mike both live locally in the Montgomery County area with their families, they were both born and raised in South Philadelphia. Both families have generational roots deep in South Philly. Many family members are active Mummers and participate in the globally known Mummers Day Parade, still to this day. Joe and Mike are no strangers to authentic “city food.” Their families owned several restaurants in South Philly. One of those being Manny Brown’s (which was highly known as the best BBQ in town back in its day) and October’s Fine Dining on Front Street.

LarderRoom…I know everyone has an opinion about cheesesteak, especially if you’re from Philly. But just hear me out. LarderRoom has a tip and it’s not the old High School “just the tip” tomfoolery. Go give Gazzos Steaks a try. Just try it. If you are going to just try one (big mis-steak), make it the Apollo Steak. Enjoy the 100% sliced Ribeye, Cooper Sharp, shaved Sicilian white TRUFFLE wit onions, all perfectly melted into the perfect roll. Yep. You’re going to thank me.

I questioned whether Gazzos would live up to the hype. To my surprise, it exceeded all expectations – without a doubt the best cheesesteaks I have ever had. The double seeded rolls are fresh and the perfect texture – not too hard or so soft that it can’t hold the steak. The steaks were perfectly seasoned and had no chewiness or balls of fat. Highly recommend The Mick. Great customer service – we were asked multiple times how the food was. Highly recommend.

The food here was really good. I picked up sandwiches for my customers and we all loved them. The Mick, the roast pork, and the chicken cutlet sandwich. I would say everything tasted amazing but the bread was lacking. It wasn’t Sarcone rolls but they were alright. Out of everything, the shining star was without a doubt, the roast pork. I will 100% be back for the roast pork again!

If you’re in Pennsylvania and craving a real cheesesteak, Gazzo’s is the spot. Hands down the best cheesesteaks ever — better than Pat’s, better than Geno’s, no question about it.

I ordered the Gazzo Cheesesteak with hot peppers, and from the very first bite I was in heaven. The balance was perfect — the cheese was melted just right, the peppers added the perfect kick, and the roll held up beautifully. They don’t skimp on the meat either — it’s loaded and packed with flavor.

You can tell they care about quality and quantity here. Every bite had that perfect blend of juicy steak, cheese, and spice. It’s the kind of sandwich that makes you stop mid-bite and say “wow.”

This place is a gem — friendly service, big portions, and unbeatable flavor. I’m already planning my next trip back. If you love cheesesteaks, Gazzo’s is a must.

I had the “Adrian” cheesesteak and I also got two more cheesesteaks, an order of fries, a cookie and 2 sodas to take home for a grand total of $85.00. The steaks were good. The fries were okay. None of it was worth that much $$. The place is themed after the movie “Rocky” as noted by the steak names and the decor. If it’s your first time there and you are unfamiliar with the menu offered, you have to stand in front of the menu which is above the grill and figure out what you would like to get from that while you are trying to read everything on the menu that is offered through a darkly tinted glass partition that blocks the menu. They do have kiosks that you can order from, but the steaks are only listed by name and no description of ingredients is given. So trying to find out what you are actually going to order is problematic if you are not familiar with their food items. The price of the meal will prevent us from ever returning again. Not worth that much money. Mickey would be ashamed.

First time getting Gazzo’s. Ordered off DoorDash and I’m always a little skeptical about the quality when ordering through them. Was pleasantly surprised. The roll was tremendous, not soggy or falling apart, delicious. Meat and cheese were great, up to par. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will for sure be getting another steak from them in the future.

Gazzos is one of the best cheesesteaks outside of Philly, period. Located in a neat location just around the corner from a video game store— we always hit both together. The food is big portioned with great rolls and great cheese. The owner also walks around and always asks how the food is, if you have everything you need which I think is awesome.

The ONLY annoyance is the lack of raw onions as an option for your cheesesteak/food. I’m told it just isn’t possible, which is weird because every other steak shop can do it.

Being from Arkansas the absolute best Philly cheese steak I’ve ever had. In addition the side of true hot peppers!! Omg thank you. Service top notch as well. Atmosphere was kool I’m not from this area so that’s why I gave it a 4, but all the folks and counter staff were kool. Great spot excellent food I’ll definitely be back!

EXCELLENT cheesesteaks. Saratoga is my favorite. The owners are super personable and the service was great. Park across the street at the lot so great location. Parking not an issue. Fries are good and seem homemade. The normal cheesesteak has a ton of cheese so go lite on it if you want more meat flavor. Either way this ranks with the top Philly cheesesteaks. No gluten free bread if you need that.

Update to the fries. Im not a fan after having them again. They are just regular and not one of the better ive had. And fyi theu definitely don’t travel well. Soggy after 10 minute drive but im not holding that against it, it’s just that they’re not that good.

Still excellent on everything else I get here. And great service.
