This place is amazing!! We called 30 minutes ahead and asked if they could seat 19 people in our party. They said they would be able to accomodate us. We were treated like royalty! We are from New Mexico and their sign said New Mexican food. Well, believe me it WAS New Mexican food and VERY delicious!! Most of our party had that food but some ordered the chicken wings appetizer and it was huge and very tasty!! Service was the best we have had in years!! The food was delicious! Highly reccomend!!

Awful food. Tamale was soggy and flavorless, green chile appeared to be dumped out of a can, red chile tasted burnt and nasty. There was also corn in the rice and a thick slab of gross melted cheese on my boyfriends food.
I got sick after eating here and that’s impressive because I barely got down 1/4 of the plate of food. Please avoid.

The tortilla soup was perfect. Just enough kick and balance of flavor. The stuffed sopapilla started out nice. The fried egg with green chile sauce on top. Overall, it was decent. The problem I had was way too much meat, which no biggie just put some to the side. Well, that’s when it went downhill. The chicken was so lacking in flavor. I don’t know if it just couldn’t keep up with the awesomeness of the rest of the dish, but really, it tasted like boiled chicken seasoned sparingly. The wait staff more than made up for some of the hiccups at this neat little restaurant.

Great place with great service. Avery was outstanding in the bar! Gazpacho’s knows how to make NEW MEXICAN food. They capture all the best of the state just south of us. The best and maybe only place in Durango to get NM cuisine!

We have been patrons of Gazpacho for nearly 30 yrs. It’s still the best New Mexican/Mexican food in town. The service is always great and you get sopapillas with your mean. Avery & Emerald are on top of it.

My family has been coming to Gazpacho’s for YEARS! It is a staple of Durango! Avery has waited on me many times and has done an exemplary job of seeing to our wishes! Brennan always went above and beyond for my father, Bob, until his passing in 2021. He loved Brennan and couldn’t wait for him to “buy the place!” We will continue to support this fantastic restaurant!

I hate doing this. I sought this place out in Durango because the higher rated place was 1) closed, and 2) on the main drag, and 3) looked like a highly rated place on the main drag. So, let’s just say I did not get what I ordered, slowly, and a little short on frequency. I’ll skip the detailed review and let you decide to go or skip. What do I know, right?

Listen…This is the best Mexican Resturaunt in Durango, hands down. Fast service, excellent food, and great prices. The amount of food that you get for the price is phenomenal. If you’re on a date, definitely get the fajitas for two, and you’ll still have enough food for days.
UPDATE:
My first review still holds true. This place is amazing. Brennan greeted us at the door, brought us to our table downstairs by the fireplace, and then served us!! Ummm … he was amazing. ASK FOR BRENNAN! We again, had the fajitas for two, margaritas, beer, and queso. Everything was phenomenal. We have a huge to-go container filled with delicious parts of our meal to have again tomorrow.
We absolutely love this place.
