We went to Gaylord’s as a recommendation from our hotel Millennium Knickerbocker. It was a Saturday night and it was very quiet. We were met with a friendly welcome and seated straight away. Our servers were super polite and attentive. The food was well presented and delicious. The lamb karhai and chilli chicken were well cooked and full of flavour. The naan bread was a stand out.. soft yet crispy. Highly recommend if in the area. My one critique is the food serving trolley.. I think in 2026 this is a little old fashioned and unnecessary but I understand it’s useful! Thanks friends x

Came in for a late dinner after a long day. Location is quiet and very clean. Had chicken mahkani and it was delicious!! I needed some spice after such a cold day. Service was excellent. Just had water tonight and they kept my glass full! Really appreciated it!

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the buffet. I found vegan options amidst the myriad of choices. Food was tasty but not laden with oil. Spice level was a little borderline but not a “make you
Sweat” level. The manager and chef both spoke with us and waiters were attentive. I will make an effort to return and we recommend all to visit and enjoy warm hospitality and delicious food!

This is my second time here. I brought my mother who’s visiting from CA and who’s a very picky eater, regardless she loved everything as I did. We ordered paneer a appetizer, lentil soup then lamb chops and the butter chicken for main course, for dessert we ordered the cheese rounds in sweet cream and something else that reminded me of the Mexican sweet rice. Everything was absolutely delicious! Service by Arshad was exceptional! He’s a very nice person and a offered great service. I highly recommend this place! I will be coming back real soon! Loved it!!

My friend and I went there for dinner and absolutely loved it. The place was empty at 8pm so we felt a little doubtful at first but we ended up having a great experience.

The staff were so so so friendly and welcoming. The food was also so so so good. Their garlic naan was probably the best garlic naan I’ve ever had in the US. It was so light, buttery, and garlicky without being dough-y.

I don’t know how they are not rated higher on Google Maps. I would definitely come here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting.

I definitely felt underdressed in my t-shirt and ball cap when the staff were in suits and the tables had tablecloths and candles. But that was the only negative- and that is totally on me. The staff were all very helpful and attentive, answering any questions we had- especially our server, Rakesh.

The food was AMAZING! This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. My daughter is vegan and they have a separate vegan menu, which made it much easier for her to order. Except the vegan menu was loaded and she had a hard time narrowing down what she wanted. Definitely a GOOD problem to have. I went with the Badshah (the Feast fit for a King) and it has great variety. It was all I could do to eat it all. I highly recommend the Gaylord!

Hey! I visited a Gaylord Indian restaurant in downtown Chicago yesterday, and I had a very bad experience that I want to share.

The food was terrible, and the service was extremely poor. We entered the restaurant around 7:25 PM, and surprisingly, all the tables were empty. When we asked for a table, they told us that dinner time in Chicago was already over.

We were a group of five people. We ordered Chicken Tikka and Paneer Tikka — they were okay. Then for the main course, we ordered dal, which had no taste at all. It looked like just boiled water with dal. The Bhindi Masala had raw bhindi (okra) — completely undercooked.

Later, we asked for some green chilies, raita, and a bit of rice. They gave us jalapeños instead of green chilies. When I asked why, they said, “These are green chilies.” I told them jalapeños aren’t the same, and they replied, “We don’t use green chilies here.”

I live in Boston and have been to many Indian restaurants across the U.S., and every single one of them uses green chilies. I couldn’t believe an Indian restaurant in Chicago doesn’t use green chilies.

The staff then got defensive and said, “We’ve been in the restaurant business for 40 years, don’t tell us how to serve. We cook 40–50 orders a day.” Honestly, who serves no-salt dal?

I’m also sharing some pictures here. Out of five people, we barely ate — just two naan, one roti, and a small bowl of rice — and we still ended up paying nearly $150.

The manager and server had a very rude attitude and didn’t know how to treat .

I did not see a single Indian chef in the kitchen.

Good indian food but service needs work. We really like the appetizers here. Portions are good and priced appropriately but curry doesn’t hit the mark. Service was definitely a mixed bag. One of our servers wasn’t attentive and got us the bill even before we had a chance to order dessert after main course. Another time the service was pretty good.

Gaylord Indian Cuisine offers a warm and inviting dining experience that captures the essence of traditional Indian flavors. Their Tandoori Chicken is a standout, marinated in aromatic spices and grilled to perfection, resulting in a smoky, tender, and flavorful dish. Complementing this is the Sweet Lassi, a classic Indian beverage made from fresh yogurt, providing a refreshing and creamy contrast to the spicy fare. Together, these dishes highlight Gaylord’s dedication to authentic and delightful Indian cuisine, making it a must-visit for both enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

It was our first dining experience here and it was amazing! Shoaib was an amazing waiter. We got the queens feast and for 28$ it was a steal. I came for my birthday and they brought delicious dessert! Highly recommend. Very authentic.
