Great atmosphere and friendly service. The Gator Tail was a real highlight of my visit—tender and perfectly fried. That Gator sauce they serve it with is out of this world! I couldn’t get enough of it. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a true Florida taste.

Great Gator Bites, But Limited Variety

We visited this location specifically to satisfy our craving for alligator meat. While the food itself was quite good, I was a bit disappointed by the limited menu options. For a restaurant that prides itself on serving gator, having only 1.5 gator-based dishes felt underwhelming.

We started with the Gator Tail appetizer, which was perfectly fried—crispy on the outside and tender inside, not chewy at all. I followed that with the Gator Smash Burger, a blend of gator and pork (hence the “0.5” gator dish). The patty was juicy and flavorful, and the fries were hot and crispy—just how I like them.

The ambiance was interesting—almost like a resort vibe. The bar area felt like it could’ve been a swim-up bar with a pool just beyond it. Personally, I found the interior a bit uninspiring and quite noisy, though the decor did have its own charm.

Our server was very friendly and welcoming, but service was on the slower side. It took a while for her to come to our table, take our order, and bring out drinks and food.

Overall: I’d consider returning to this chain, especially to see if they’ve expanded their gator offerings. The food quality is there—it just needs more variety to match the theme.

My Rating: ‘4 Stars’ = Very Good, ‘5 Stars’ = Way Above Expectations

Nice place to eat with family. Service was ok, it seemed that there wasn’t enough staffing so there was a bit of a wait and a few mistakes made. I asked for kids menu that was left at the front counter when we were seated so my husband went to get them, then when the bill was suppose be discounted, it rang up the same exact amount. There was only 1 server manning the tables AND the bar. And a another server on the other side of the restaurant.

Food was good, but my sweet potato fries were burnt. See pic.

Poor visit across the board. No bright spot to point out. Sat for 10-15 minutes before even being greeted. Another 20 before we even got our drink. 40 minutes for our first order of wings on AYCE wing night (Monday).
Sat around 7:30, after 8:10 before food came. Drinks empty for 20 minutes, I asked for blue cheese twice, never got it. Wings and fries are cold from waiting on the blue cheese. Server didn’t even come back to check on the food for follow up, or take our re-order for more than 20 minutes after our food got to the table. It’s now 8:55, we have not yet gotten our re-order. There’s like 4 people working. It’s national championship night. Not overly busy, just not staffed. There’s 2 nights that you staff for as a wing place, the Super Bowl and the national championship. Food runners don’t know what they’re doing. Or servers don’t know table numbers. Theyre just circling with food calling it out, going to the wrong tables. Have no idea where they’re taking it or where it’s supposed to go. Explains why the food is getting dropped cold. It is now 9pm, after waiting 50 minutes for our re-order, the reorder is wrong. I expressed the issues to our server, we were checked out and charged in full. She said “you won’t be charged for this because it’s all you can eat”. Well no shit. And it was wrong and we couldn’t eat it nor wait any longer because we have to be in to work at 9:30. 2 hours sitting here and receives 1 order. Unacceptable. Wings should be getting constantly fried or par cooked on a night like this, waiting to be sauced. No management presence. Just a dumpster fire. Unbelievable that I had to pay for this half assed experience. I usually love gators, but this was awful. Explains why the one in Millenia closed. No standards here across the board. Sub par everything. I want both orders refunded. And we were charged for the blue cheese that we never received. Asked for manager at the end, manager would even come up to see us.
I’ll run this place, have the owners reach out to me.
1st bad experience at a gators, and it’s only been this location.
Hunters creek, lake Mary, Windermere, and Dr Phillips and Millenia were all fine when those 2 were around. If I could give zero stars I would.

*it has now been 24 hours since my atrocious visit. After the manager declined to come out to touch the table, I left my contact info at the host stand to be reached out to. I have not yet been contacted*

Stopped in while on a business trip to grab dinner. I sat at the bar since I was solo and enjoyed a bee and dinner. Bartender recommended Funky Buddha beer and I ordered the Ahi Tuna bowl with veggies. Food was fantastic and beer was great! Service was a tad slow and I think the bar was lacking help this evening. Still everything was fine. It’s a great spot and you should visit.

Food is consistently good here even though I wasn’t fond of the chili the server really went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and got me something different. Their fried Fridays is really good deal

It’s our first time at Gator’s. It is in our neighbourhood thought to give it a try. We thought we were going to sit outside at the patio because inside must be loud like all the pubs we’ve been to. To my surprise, the music was down low, nice and bright, very easy to have a conversation without raising voices. We stayed inside instead. The service was great. Our server Dana was great and helpful. We ordered Ahi tuna for appetizer, rib dinner and 3 mini hamburgers. They were all tasty. Ribs were not dry even though I ask for the sauce on the side. We enjoyed our experience here and will visit again. It is a family friendly place. Price is reasonable not too expensive for food.

I am writing this after my first experience eating at this Gators Dockside location. Myself and some friends decided to go for all you can eat boneless wing Wednesday and it was a fantastic experience. It was around 8:30pm, and it was fairly quiet inside, which allowed us to be seated right away and have our choice of table and chairs or booth. We went with the booth, and right away our server, Chris was ready to take our drink order. Chris was extremely friendly and quick to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our experience. Chris also allowed me to sample a flavor of sauce that I was unsure about ordering, and it became my favorite flavor! I would highly recommend visiting this location and asking for Chris as your server. The restaurant was also clean, and all of the staff were working as a team to clean tables and upkeep the establishment.

Tried this location because we was craving wings and it was closer then the Gators we normally go too. As always their food is always delicious and hot!

However, we could of had better service. When we first got there, there wasnt many people maybe 2 tables full and a few at the bar and at our waitress was on top of it (cant recall her name but was wearing froggy earrings 1.21.26). She was nice and on top of it but when things picked up (maybe 3-4 more tables came in after the orginal 2 left and another few to the bar) we noticed she wasnt coming around much but was behind the bar constantly talking to coworkers and we didnt see her at all after our food was served to us. We sat there probably 30mins-50mins waiting for drinks to be refilled and we wanted more dipping sauce for our wings. We tried to get other workers attention but they seemed to all be in their groups chatting away all around the restaurant. Eventually, we got one, asked for more sweet tea but, next thing we know our orginal waitress is bringing out 1 tea and slams it down in front of my husband without looking at us or asking if we needed anything before she walked away. I found that rather rude.

I am not sure what was going on weather she was leaving her shift or about to, training, family emergency, etc. But, regaurdless that shouldn’t condone your table being ignored for over 30+mins. At least find someone else to check on us. But, to slam down a drink when we not seen you in half an hour and had to bother another waitress. Is ridiculous. We even had to wait for another waitress or maybe it was the manager to check us out because we got tired of waiting for our ticket. We had to both get up and ask someone to check us out so we could leave.

Just would be nice, if things are occurring that takes your waitress/waitor from their customers that someone is stepping in as needed so no one is ignored and left sitting there.. waiting.

I wouldn’t say this is a go-to vegetarian spot but if you find yourself here with friends, just know you have options. Typical starters like mozzarella sticks, pretzel bites, pickle chips, and main entree salads. However, they also had buffalo cauliflower and veggie wings. We tried the veggie wings and got a grilled cheese, while the other half of the party also got chicken wings. I believe the fries and wings may be all made in the same fryers as meat, so be mindful. While they did also have gluten-free options, proceed with caution for cross contamination. The waitress we had (wish I could remember the name) was an absolute gem. She answered all of our food allergy questions with ease and wanted to ensure we both had options to eat. Any restaurant that takes the time to talk through the menu and also clearly knows their menu is a 5 star for me. Our waitress made the entire experience amazing. My only disappointment is they didn’t have Teremana tequila.
