Great bbq. There are some tables where you can eat in but so many people were walking out with bags of to-go meals. Very popular with the locals but no problem if you’re not. They also treat you to a taste of banana pudding while you’re waiting

Dont be fooled by this “hole in the wall” location because WOW they are on point. Was in the area on business and looking for a good place to eat. Walked in and was greeted before the door was closed behind me. The lady behind the counter ( I shouldve gotten her name) was very friendly and helpful. I told her it was my first time so she helped me navigate the menu and my food was out in about 3 minutes. If you are in the Jacksonville area and looking to grab a quick bite, this spot is a must. I had the brisket, bbq beans and a sweet potato which comes with some sort of cinamon butter. Deeeeelish!

This is simple backyard style BBQ, the way grandpa used to make. The flavors were fantastic, the smoke was perfect. Some places have BBQ that is bland & needs sauce to taste anything. Here at Gators the sauces add to the experience and are not actually needed to enjoy the food.
Let me add that the food coming out stacked on a dixie plate brought back so many good memories of growing up spending the summers with my grandparents. Free samples of the banana pudding is a nice touch as well.

The food was decent. They forgot my slaw. I should’ve checked my order but didn’t. That’s on me. But everything was tied up and I didn’t want to tear the bag to check it all.

We did not order BBQ. We got seafood and it was stellar. Fried okra was fantastic, fried pickles also great. Not bad portions for 5.99 each.
The star was truly the fried shrimp and hush puppies. Butterflied shrimp were each cooked perfectly and not tough. Same for the hush puppies / not crumbly and with actual corn. Mac and cheese was just right – not soupy. Green beans had enough flavor. Coleslaw and potato salad were just right. Nothing I’d add but nothing I’d remove.

Wife and I went in to order a carry out dinner inside seating was pretty full and there were many people getting to go meals. I ordered the two meat dinner with two sides and they were the brisket and smoked Turkey with their baked beans and fries. Their brisket is so tender and juicy very delicious and the Turkey was very moist and flavorful. I have to say they have the best baked beans I’ve had brisket is right up there too. Wife got chicken salad which she always loves. Gators is in our area and they never disappoint always friendly fast and wonderful dining experience.

Cute little place with good food and nice staff. My son had visited many years ago and he treated me today. We chose the Tender brisket lunch with two sides and a drink. The price was fair and the parking lot is big enough. A lot of people had come and gone while we were eating there.

This place is awesome. My husband and I had lunch there yesterday and we’re getting it again today. I’ve never been disappointed with the food or the service. Everybody is so nice. It’s always clean. Never have to wait long for your food, everything is always fresh and delicious. I highly recommend Gators BBQ.

I was told about this little spot by one of my coworkers. I’m a big fan of bbq and have tried most spots in the area so when I heard about how great this one was I had to try it. We started with their redneck egg rolls which were pork, pepper jack cheese, and cabbage with their sauce. They were good but really benefitted from a liberal dose of bbq sauce. I ordered the baby back rib dinner which came with 2 pieces of garlic bread, and two sides. I got fries and collard greens. The ribs were the best I’ve had in the area hands down. Collard greens were a strong A+ as well. The fries were exactly what you’d expect from a bbq spot. My lady got a pulled pork sandwich and Mac n cheese. She told me the pork was great and not dry at all. She said the Mac n cheese was good but not the star of the show by any means.

This has been a great place to order food from. It’s fairly easy to order via their website, and it’s usually ready by the time I drive in to pick up.
