There is a second floor that boasts a corner kids’ play space, large tables for meetings and other little cozy nooks to work. During the warmer weather, there’s an outdoor terrace with a sandpit for the kids.
What’s more is that the space is always full of inspiring artwork. If you need a gift, it’s a great place to stop — earrings, pottery, wall art, books. There is even a pay-it-forward wall to donate meals and a little plant propagating area to share plants. How cute is that? They host third Fridays with programming, book clubs and more.
Gather 256 reminds me of the coffee houses of my teenage years — homey, comfortable, welcoming, a place to work when you need to be alone, a space to connect when you need a friend. We are so lucky to have it here in York!
It is definitely the best coffee shop in town.
This place is an experience!
The food was fantastic, the staff was amazing, and we loved admiring the artwork while we were here.
We LOVED the ironic breakfast sandwich! It was such a great combination, and the eggs just melt in your mouth! We also loved the bangin’ breakfast bowl with pork sausage! The chef TyNesha and the owner, Sarah, did an amazing job with our food, and we were sure to tell them how amazing it was.
Tyler made our coffee, and we especially loved the guava and cinnamon latte!! Sounds odd for coffee, but it was so good!!!!
Maddie, the owner’s daughter, was so sweet, extremely knowledgeable, and helpful, too.
Also, a sweet artist, Steph Holmes, has a studio upstairs where you can check out her artwork and chat with her about her art. Plus, there is a ton more art and seating upstairs.
And last, but not least, you can purchase artwork and all sorts of cute gifts that are sold here.
