Treat yourself to a visit with Ann and John Tucker at Gateway Store and Cafe. They’ve made some terrific changes that you’ll want to check out, including a nice new deck for outdoor dining. Other changes are on the way soon, including a salad bar addition to their menu. See their current menu in the photos. Gateway also carries some groceries, snack foods, cold beverages, outdoor supplies, and a gift section. Their current hours through March 15th are Wednesday thru Sunday 8 am to 7 pm. From March 16th on through the summer is Seven Days a week, 8 am to 7 pm the Cafe will be closed on Monday and Tuesday with just the store and ice cream being open

We had an adventure drive down from Halfway and stopped for lunch. Wow. Such good service, fun atmosphere, and the food was generous and delicious!! I also had a new experience. The special was steak fingers, and they served them with cocktail sauce!! I was skeptical, but it was amazing and I will ask for cocktail from now on. . They also serve yummy beans as a side, they were yummy. Oh! If you still have room after lunch, get a milkshake!! I recommend the huckleberry, but my grandson had chocolate. We will definitely be back!! Highly recommend.

We were camping down the road for 3 days and we stopped here for breakfast and dinner. Everyone there was so friendly and just casual talking that lightened up your day. The food was exceptional just felt like home. Very accommodating to my personal needs for my allergy and dietary restrictions with me. So they made me a sandwich that was amazing. We decided to stay for lunch and they took fantastic care of us. Great burger and fries! Our favorite part was watching all the hummingbirds flit between several feeders placed around the outdoor patio.

Can’t say enough!! I broke down near cafe. Owner fixed my trailer spending hours of his time just to be a good person. Wouldn’t take payment. Just doing the right thing when nobody is even looking! Food was best I’ve eaten there in 10 years. Atmosphere great! What a nice little place for a break from the heat to get some lunch, some icecream or even spend the night. Thank you John!
