This restaurant is a great place to enjoy fresh oysters and freshly baked pizza. The oysters are delicious, and the pizza comes out hot and perfectly cooked. They also offer a wide variety of alcoholic drinks, so there’s plenty to choose from.

The prices are reasonable for the quality of food you get, which makes it a great spot to visit at least once. Just keep in mind that it can get pretty busy during dinner time, so plan ahead and give yourself some extra time. Also, they do not take reservations, so seating is first-come, first-served.

Definitely worth checking out!

Delicious food, and more importantly, a perfect whiskey old fashioned! The chicken piccata and clam, sausage, and leek pizza were both to die for (pictured is HALF of the piccata serving because they were kind enough to split it for my husband and me). Elevated gastro pub is the perfect description for this spot. Upbeat, family-friendly, but still perfect for a date night or watching sports.

Have been here a few times now. Food does not disappoint. ELEVATED gastro pub fare with a quintessential WI vibe. LOVE IT! Great place to take family and friends visiting from out-of-town or to make it your local watering hole.

Ever looking for after UW classes, after work casual dinner with your team that has cool environment, quality customers, great staff, and great fresh food..which has an East Coast experience in a great welcoming hip neighborhood..THIS IS IT! JUST DO IT!
I had the Walleye Special that was perfectly seared, seasoned perfectly with tiny sized slivers of delicious organic potatoes. FABULOUS! Staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. Prices were fair for the excellent quality of fresh food.
Parking after 5:30 is easy and although no handicap parking.. access to entrance is easy.

If you’ve ever been to my ultimate favorite “special” restaurant thats pricey but well worth it on a special occasion then you will love this for the more casual affair n great for a date!

Immaculate. Stunning. Nostalgic. My partner & I read an article in the Madisonian Magazine raving about G&Bs clam chowder and decided to venture on over to the West side. We were immediately overwhelmed by how cozy and nostalgic the atmosphere calmed us and were treated with amazing customer service.

THE FOOD!!! Holy moly!!! Everything was easily a 10/10. The clam chowder? Perfect. Fried smelt? Mindblowing. Caesar salad? Delightful. Salmon dinner special? One of the best meals I’ve ever had. And the dessert?!!! The Almond cake with door county cherries?!? Upsettingly good.

You may not be brought to happy tears like I was after eating at Gates & Brovi (I’m quite dramatic) but I can guarantee you’ll have a damn good time.

Brunch menu does not impress, especially not at this price point.
Burger is like, good for an airport, not $17 good. Especially not $21 good after fries.
Muffin was good, but not good enough to come back.
I don’t drink alcohol, but it’s probably meant for people who do

Nice neighborhood restaurant. Would give the food 4.5 stars if I could. While not amazing, it is very good. Soups do need a bit more salt added. I really enjoyed the Nashville hot honey chicken sandwich. Service is very good. The acoustic ms on the restaurant are not very good so it gets very loud and can be hard to hear each other speak sometimes. There is no lot, but there is plenty of street parking on side streets. Give yourself an extra 5 to 10 minutes to walk from side streets that are further away.

Ordered 2 kinds of pizza and both were bad. So oily, and felt we were just eating tomato puree. The soup was great, burgers too sweet for an Asian . No spice at all in any food.
The atmosphere is lovely but its your people who make it more memorable.

We’ve been going here since Gates & Brovi opened, and have always loved it. But over the last year or two a few problems have emerged. First, the burgers and sandwiches are far too packed with ingredients and they turn out to be a complete slippery mess to eat. Doesn’t help when servers agree and just bring a stack of napkins and say that’s just the way it is. Second, the menu needs an update – it’s hardly changed for the last few years. Third, the cost for a glass of wine is too much – beer costs are affordable, but wine is not. Great setting, and overall, excellent staff – but management seems to be taking things for granted.

Gates & Brovi is consistently good. Definitely our go-to restaurant. The quality of food is always excellent, and everything we tried so far was delicious! Especially, pizza, brunch dishes and ice cream.
