I cannot fully describe how amazing of an experience it was to visit this beautiful restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was treated like family. That was first… Then came the food! While I am limited in international travel experience, I have certainly had MANY meals in MANY exquisite restaurants, and I must say the fresh caught Big-Eye Tuna (catch of the day) was the most perfectly prepared fish that I have ever had. I cannot be more thankful for the group of people (family owned and operated) that I had the opportunity to meet as I ate. I promise to return for a date with the lapas grelhadas before I leave the island. You absolutely MUST visit this restaurant while you are here 11/10

Sonya the owner is amazing, talked us through the menu and made excellent recommendations. We had the Limpets, tuna and the pineapple moose…..
So you can’t add a second review, but we went back a second time….tried different items and everything was awesome

The fish here was absolutely delicious – so good that we ended up ordering three of them for two of us! The atmosphere is incredibly warm and welcoming, making the whole dining experience even better. I recommend this place 100%!

We had an incredible experience! Before anything else, we went to check out the fish of the day, and in the end we chose the mixed fish platter with several types of fish — it was absolutely amazing. The dessert was also fantastic. Highly recommend!

Wonderful family restaurant run by Sonia with some help from her son. Very friendly experience! I managed to squeeze in without a reservation by going at opening time. Some others came later without a reservation had to wait. This was despite it being low season (Feb).
I had limpets and their tuna special. I’ve tried tuna across the Azores and Madeira and found it almost always overcooked for my taste, but I really enjoyed this. It was just the right amount of rare inside and tasted juicy. Limpets were also very well seasoned.

Do NOT miss this! The food is fantastic but the service is even better. We arrived just before opening and customers were already lined up outside waiting to get in. The evening started with a detailed description of every fresh fish in the case, we received helpful wine recommendations, and enjoyed great conversation throughout the evening. My wife Rosana left feeling as though she truly bonded with Sonia; what an amazing experience!

The atmosphere in this restaurant is very friendly and welcoming. All the fish and seafood we tried were absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. This place is so lovely!! My husband and I stopped in right after we landed and we were starving. Sonia and the staff were so welcoming and kind to us!! We tried the mussels and tuna, both were 10/10 would highly recommend. I went with a house wine recommendation and loved it. The mousse dessert was so light and airy and the house drink at the end was just perfect. My only regret is not having the chance to stop in once more before leaving. Highly recommend, will be back in the future for sure!

A fabulous family run dinning experience. Many different fresh fish options. The beef options are wonderful. The homemade bread comes two different breads. The sweet bread is so fresh.
Meals are cooked perfectly and served hot. Serving size is very large.
Home made desserts are incredible. The pineapple mousse is delicious.
Service is very personal. They take you to the fresh fish cooler and explain your options.

It was not only about the food, it was about the whole experience. Lovely from start to finish, with friendly and welcoming service in a relaxed, family atmosphere. Mouthwatering tuna steak, delicious limpets and a perfectly balanced pineapple mousse – full of real pineapple taste, refreshing rather than overly sweet. I strongly recommend visiting, and it is definitely a place worth coming back to.
