The staff were helpful and attentive and all spoke good English, which is a plus point, as my attempts at German could best be described as “confusing”.
Before I go any further I should probably get a bit of “full disclosure” on the table. I admit that when I went in I had no idea what a “flammkuchen” was and didn’t think much about it. I bumble through Germany with no idea what most things are. So when I ordered a vegan curry, I naively expected a conventional vegan curry.
What I got was a delicious flat pizza (aka a “flammkuchen”!) with a vegan curry topping. Like most things that happen to me when I am in Germany, I can say that this is not what I was expecting, but was a very welcome surprise. It was light, crispy, cooked perfectly and delicious. I now understand this concept a little better and this fine establishment can kuch my flamm any time.
The ice cream was also excellent – and is one of the few things I fully understood.
This was a really excellent evening out and felt like a very high quality dining experience (in terms of food, service and atmosphere) for a budget price. All 3 of us left very happy.
I would recommend this establishment very highly for visitors or locals alike.
I still have not got the hang of tipping though and leave a trail of confused (but polite) waters in my wake.
