I’ll start by saying the staff were really lovely and knowledgeable. The food was good, but maybe not great. We had the sliced red pork and it was just okay, served with a fairly ordinary mustard dip. The pho was huge and impressive, broth was flavorful and the ribeye was nice too. Our was missing the egg but the sever gave us eggs to go with our leftovers. My husband enjoyed the shrimp stir fry though only around 4 shrimp in there but they were a good size. I had the green curry, wonderful curry sauce, way too much bamboo in there though. Overall, we would come back and I’m sure they’ll do very well.

I’m giving 3 stars on atmosphere only because when we walked in we weren’t even greeted. Just stood there and eventually someone came up and just looked at us, grabbed to menus, and said ‘right this way’. Our server was great and very attentive. The food was excellent and different! We had the crab Rangoon which was…goodies, and the dumplings which were awesome! For entrees, I had the tiger steak (little overdone but still good) and my man had the orange chicken which was excellent. Overall, different but very tasty!

I cannot say enough about how good the food is here. There have only a handful of times in the last decade that I remember sitting down and exploring/deeply enjoying foods I haven’t experienced yet. This was one of those times. I haven’t come across a restaurant with appetizers and entrees of this style anywhere else in this area. The taste and quality were above average.
The wait staff was very nice. Chef Brandon was also very nice. It was great that he came out to see how we liked our food.

The food was absolutely amazing! We indulged in an incredible dessert called ube, a delightful purple sweet potato cheesecake. As someone who makes cheesecake myself, I can confidently give this a full 5 stars! It was exceptional. I truly believe the Northwoods has discovered its new favorite dining spot! Wishing them the best of luck with their exciting culinary journey!

My husband and I recently took a weekend getaway to Lake Tomahawk, WI, and as food lovers with a particular fondness for Asian cuisine, we always make it a point to try out local spots. I stumbled upon this gem and, despite my husband being a bit of a food critic, I was determined to give it a shot. To our surprise, it exceeded both of our expectations—yes, even my husband’s!
I ordered the pho, which, as any Asian food lover knows, can be hit or miss. But this one was definitely a hit. While it might not have quite matched my mother-in-law’s legendary recipe, it was still incredibly tasty and well-made. My husband went for the Mongolian beef, which was also delicious and packed with flavor.
The bartender was fantastic—busy but attentive, and really on top of things. We also caught a quick glimpse of the chef, who I’m sure came out to make sure everything was up to par, especially since we were the only Asian diners in the restaurant. It was a nice touch, and it made us feel truly welcomed.
If you’re an Asian food enthusiast looking for a satisfying meal in the area, I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be back to try the Crying Tiger next time. Keep up the great work!

Absolutely blown away! First time here and was not expecting the kind of food they have. We stopped in just cause we drove past and were like let’s try gaslight. The flavor was so good, I literally told my boyfriend this is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to! We got the same thing the Mongolian beef the taverns specialty. So good we ate it all. Also got the red winter sangria. That drink could be dangerous it goes down so smooth! And paired excellent with dinner. If you are in the north woods around lake tomahawk definitely stop in! We will stop every time we come up!

Was pleased to return to the Gaslight Tavern with a new menu! Excellent quality and taste and very reasonable prices. Mongolian beef, teriyaki chicken, red curry and sweet and sour chicken were on order. All ample servings and beautiful presentation! Several pre dinner appetizers all flavor filled.

Wow just wow. First time here and won’t be last time. I had the Mongolian beef it was the best I have ever had in my life. I ate it all and wanted more. The flavor was delicious and the beef so very tender. Hubby had the Fish fry chili flavor, daughter had Mongolian beef and her boyfriend had the Teriyaki chicken. Everything was above and beyond delicious.
