Crème brûlée French toast – 10/10
Yogurt – 10/10
Mexican Mocha – 10/10
California burrito – 8/10
The only downside this time was the steak quality. I’d rate it a 2/10. When I had it almost a year ago, it was easily an 8/10 — this time it was completely different. It had a strange texture, almost plastic-like, and lacked flavor.
I wouldn’t recommend going with the steak & eggs that’s the only thing I’d change.
Aside from that, everything was great. Customer service was top-notch and my server John was very attentive and friendly.
Although they weren’t perfect, it was still probably the best thing I’ve eaten in the city all week.
I would definitely suggest this place for breakfast over the other options I have been to in gas lamp.
Good food, good prices for the area.
Our waitor took like fifteen minutes to acknowledge us, and only came back by once. I think this is just a California thing though. The wait staff knows they get a paycheck regardless of quality of service.
Either way, solid spot… If you are a southerner and like shrimp and grits, this place has a pretty good take on it.
This place was so good that I had to have breakfast on our last day in town because I haven’t found any place this good in Phoenix. I will definitely be back!!!
We stopped by on a recent visit to San Diego for a Sunday brunch and found a lovely space with lovely wall decor and a lively atmosphere with plenty of other people inside.
The host was very friendly and had us promptly seated, and our order was taken not long after!
We got some mimosas, which had a few juice flavors to choose from for going with it!
Now for the food – I decided to go for the Brioche Breakfast Sammie….let me just say..stick to the pancakes and waffles here.
My partner seemed to really enjoy his Breakfast Co. Flight that allows you to mix and match any of the waffles, pancakes, and french toasts – so I’d definitely say go for that!
My Breakfast Sammie on the other hand was, well…meh. Lacking flavor, falling apart while attempting to eat and very messy, and yet like I said – just REALLY bland and boring despite all that mess!
I still do recommend this place, as the vibes, drinks, and service were all on point.
Their strengths are definitely with the waffles, pancakes, and french toast.
So you’ll especially love coming here if you really enjoy those food items!
Just don’t get the Breakfast Sammie.
Longer version: We visited the Breakfast Company for breakfast on a Saturday morning. This was our first visit. We arrived at about 9am and the place was pretty packed. We sat at the counter, otherwise the wait would have been about 15 minutes.
The drip coffee is delicious and smooth. My wife had a latte that had tumeric, ginger, and cinnamon. It smelled great.
The food was hot and fresh. My wife, who ordered the Breakfast Flight, said that all the items on her flight were amazing. It was a ton of food, too. See the picture. The plate is as big as a skateboard.
My American breakfast was very American. Huge portion. The star of the plate was the sweet breakfast sausage. They also offer a spicy sausage, which my neighbor on the bar are. He said it’s great. He visits 3 or 4 times a week, so that should tell you something.
On the table there is a sauce that is sort of like ketchup, but with a hint of spice. Delicious, and paired well with my breakfast potatoes.
Highly recommended.
