This is my second one time to eat at Garner Street Meat Market. I came in and found out they were closing because they ran out of Brisket. They had Pork. I thought oh no I don’t like BBQ pork. I ordered it anyway. Oh my goodness, it was the best BBQ pork I ever eaten. I ate potato casserole as my side. It was so good! I had to laugh. I am also not a big fan of onions. The potato casserole had onions. It was so good I thought so what it has onions! I’ve eaten BBQ all over Texas. Garner Street Meat Market is a absolute jewel of BBQ. I love my state of Texas. I love Garner Street Meat Market in Detroit, Texas

Cute, quiet, clean place to grab a bite to eat. We tried it for the first time today, and were pleasantly impressed with the quality of the meal. The restaurant and people were all kind, 5/5 all day long!

Great meat market! Really like their bacon and steaks are great. Got rib eyes today and grilled them. Tender, juicy and delicious. 3 bucks a pound cheaper than other meat markets around and so tender!! Stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon is grill or oven ready and very tasty. Big box factory grocery store cannot match the quality.

Good spot to grab a bite if you’re on that lonely stretch between Paris and Clarksville on Texas Hwy 82. Very popular with the locals. Home cookin’. Unpretentious with lots of atmosphere. They deserve your business!

Outstanding BBQ, had the brisket and mac and cheese. Both were fantastic. The Blueberry Cobbler was incredible and the real star of the show.

Great atmosphere. Got the last of the brisket and it was so good. Sides were good and so was the cobbler.
Will return if in the area.

Some of the best BBQ you will find in this area. You will find if you are not there long after they open they will be sold out very fast. The brisket has to be eaten with a spoon because it’s so tender you can’t pick it up either a fork. They have some of the best sides there also. The building is great and fits a BBQ joint.

This Outstanding Barbecue is competitive with anything in Texas, including Lockhart. Great atmosphere and presentation. We tried the brisket, ribs, hot and regular sausages, mac and cheese, baked beans, and their special bacon and chicken wrapped jalapenos. The ribs were the best we’ve ever had and the brisket was also near the top of the list. There is also a wonderful store where you can stock up on all your meats including exotic meats such as elk. If you find yourself biking the Northeast Texas Trail, or just driving through It is well worth it.
