Stopped at Gardner’s on our way home from Vermont and it was such a unique find! Paulie had the sausage & peppers and I had a cheeseburger, both were fresh and flavorful. We shared fries that were crispy, hand cut, and easily some of the best I’ve had. We washed it all down with a Coke and Diet Coke while sitting outside, enjoying the laid-back atmosphere.

What makes this place special is the combination, you can grab a hearty meal, enjoy rich homemade ice cream, and even play a round of mini-golf or hit the driving range. It’s not your average roadside stop, it’s an experience. The menu is way more unique than you’d expect, and everything feels homemade and done with care.

Highly recommend Gardner’s if you’re passing through Stephentown. Great food, fun vibe, and worth the stop!

Cute place, basic food on the go. Only 8 flavors of soft serve, no hard scoop. Restaurant was closed yesterday at 2pm. Lots of nice picnic tables outside to eat at.

Good food and fast service at the walk-up window. I had the chicken deluxe, which is a fried chicken sandwich with lettuce and fixings. They have tons of soft serve options, with maple flavor coming into season. The dining room is very quaint, with views out onto the driving range and hills beyond.

Many good experiences at Gardner’s. It’s a frequent stop on our way to and from VT. Good ice cream. Good fast food and snacks. Hit golf balls with a view of the cows in the distance. Play mini golf.

Had breakfast here twice and each time was fantastic.
Even my breakfast hating son enjoyed his food.
I’m pretty picky about an omelette and each day they were really good.
Young woman working there each morning was terrific, great sense of humor and work ethic. I really thought she might have been an owner. She’s not, so if you’re the owner and you see this, give that girl a raise!

The dining area was open, but we chose the outside stand to order and ate in the car due to a time restriction. The food was good, as was the service, and the time it took to prepare it. If it wasn’t raining, we would have sat at one of the many picnic tables instead.

Our family came here late after swimming at Cherry Plain State Park. We had a great experience with a fast prepared hot meal and Icecream afterwards. We appreciated the friendly staff and better than average fry food! Very comfortable and highly recommend. Thank You! Cash Only so know that:) Also, mini golf on site.

This is the cutest ice cream shop with a view but our experience each time is horrible. This visit I am 7 months pregnant was told to use the bathroom outside. I wanted to use the bathroom inside the restaurant, which would’ve been a lot easier for me as a paying customer. There was also a dog off the leash which created a big problem. Last year when we stopped a man with a gun and a four wheeler came by to make sure we knew the shop was closed and to get moving. The staff does not seem to care and is very rude if they think you are out of town. Enjoy your ice cream but stop at your own risk.

We had lunch here and didn’t try the ice-cream. From a food perspective the term ‘greasy spoon’ comes to mind. I’m sure the locals like it but bland greasy food isn’t my thing.
