I went out of town for two days this week and my friend that tagged along keep nagging me about a restaurant she loved in Rocky Mount, NC. I asked people, Google it for her and Walla! We found Gardner’s Restaurant. The food was yummy, well seasoned and the staff was friendly. You better go there if you are on ur way to Raleigh or the surrounding cities, – you definitely won’t be disappointed!!!

We stopped in on our way back from OBX. Awesome! Great southern bbq that tastes like it was made with care. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. Every side item we got was out of this world… and all the main items were stellar as well! Highly recommended! Be sure to get some chicken and pork!

I think this region of eastern North Carolina doesn’t get enough recognition about how we prepare our greens. It is the only place in America I’ve seen that prepares greens like this and it’s always great to come home to taste. I also had the sweet potato jack and that was awesome.

First time eating there and will be my last. Stopped in for a late lunch and got greeted slowly and with a terrible “I don’t want to be here” attitude. I gave the lady my order and when the food came out she had rang me up for the wrong stuff. So I informed her politely that what she gave me is something I do not even eat. So, rather making it right or apologizing, asked me if I just want to keep it and that was it. Not offering to fix it. I instructed her that I wanted something completely different and she rang me up again for me to buy a second time. Overall, I would not recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere transparent and service oriented. The BBQ was not bad, did not get enough sauce. Their style of cooking the food was not portrayed clearly and was only discovered after purchased.

Came here for a quick food stop. Workers were incredibly nice and didn’t hesitate to help. The place is spotless. Food was amazing. The sandwich I had was by far one of the best BBQ sandwiches I’ve had. The Mac and cheese was delicious and I would highly recommend it.
