After multiple times eating here (suggested by someone else every time) I can confidently say this the is the laziest bagel shop I’ve been to in San Diego.
– Had my partner bring me home a jalapeño cheddar bagel untoasted (so I could eat it freshly toasted at home). The bagel is a PLAIN bagel with jarred sliced jalapeños piled on top and a slice of half melted cheese to hold it on. Imagine how that went in the toaster. The jalapeño cream cheese is plain cream cheese with a couple of sliced jalapeños mixed in. Mine had two pieces and that was it.
– Ordered in store when there was no one else in the shop and the employee couldn’t have been more apathetic. We ordered three items and she got two incorrect. None of the bagels were toasted all the way and she made the bagel sandwich so messily that the cream cheese was all over the outside of the bagel and I couldn’t even hold onto it???
– They microwave the meat right in front of you. Not a toaster oven, an actual microwave. Why would anyone be calling this stuff “fresh”?
– The actual bagels are the same quality of what you can find at a grocery store yourself.
Not sure why anyone would choose this spot out of any other bagel shop in the area when they consistently don’t put in even half the effort.

We ordered two dozens bagels and cream cheese for our small event and everyone absolutely loved it. The strawberry cream cheese is absolutely delicious. The bagels were fresh and so soft! Will order again for sure!

Your days of looking for fluffy, fresh, homemade bagels has come to an end. Garden state bagels have the softest bagels I’ve ever had and they don’t skimp on the cream cheese or the toppings on the bagels. Their cheddar jalapeño bagel has plenty of jalapeños in a cozy bed of cheese enough for every bite. The staff was extremely nice and greeted us with smiles. After one visit this place has become our new bagel place
