the owner khal is originally from lebanon and when he moved to the states, he knew he wanted to share his love for food with the community around him
he originally opened his first wrap shop in narragansett rhode island and now gansett wraps is in a few towns across connecticut and rhode island
first timers have to try the gyro falafel
its a beef gyro, with housemade falafel, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce. the sauce is so savory and falafel which is a blend of chickpeas and spices added so much flavor
other wraps can be stuffed with chicken, bacon, veggies and even french fries
home to where the husky womens basketball team gets their lunch, gansett wraps has to be added to your connecticut foodie bucket list

At Storrs Congregational Heritage Luncheon we decided to have Gansett wraps (cut in half & assorted) as the main part of our meal! Gansett was wonderful to work with! Labeled every wrap. I’m so mad that I waited so long to try Gansett Wraps. The owners were very nice in helping me order based on a combination of things I wanted. Everything is much more flavorful than what I’ve had elsewhere — the Greek dressing, the Tzatziki sauce, the gyro meat, the Tabbouleh… I can’t wait to try their hummus. Their portions are generous and the prices are outstanding, which I hardly want to say for fear they’ll raise them. My order was prepared very quickly. I’ll be a regular, for sure. (Photo: A gyro without the pita with Greek dressing, a scoop of Tabbouleh, and Tzatziki sauce. It comes with a generous 4 strips of gyro meat.)

We needed a bite before heading to a show at Jorgenson Theater (Song of the North- fabulous). Gansett had my son with the many UConn sports teams posters. I wanted something edible, but was surprised by the array of choices, including a number of middle eastern faves. I settled on a BLT wrap and falafel with tahini, and son found he could get a cheeseburger wrapped or on a sandwich roll. Vegan options were also on offer. The food was swiftly prepared behind a massive counter and we were gnoshing happily in a few moments. No table service, but good food made fast and furious. Perfect campus fare. Go Huskies!

Super-friendly service. They show their appreciation when you arrive and when you leave. Two of our party got wraps, and one got a platter. The kitchen was quick. Though the wraps are drippy with sauce and contain nice bits of cucumber and such, we felt the overall experience was quite “dry”. Maybe that’s just the nature of wraps, in general, and I’m not meant to be a wrap person? Loved the flavor, loved the freshness, loved the people. Just felt the tiniest bit let down.
