Not my normal BYOB review but have been back numerous times not only for the exceptionally fresh sashimi but the reasonably priced “ Free Pour” drinks!

Ganga never disappoints. Great food and drinks. Service needs improvement though. The stuff is nice, however sometimes you have to ask for soy sauce (which should already be on the table), or a fountain drink multiple times before they bring it.

Came here for a light dinner. I had the gyoza, edamame and the drunken noodles. Everything was amazing. The food was so well cooked. The chicken in the drunken noodles was amazingly prepared and thin enough to have the right amount of chicken with flavoring with the noodles.
The atmosphere is nice. Is very calming and I like the color palette. The service was great. I sat at the bar and both ladies were very attentive and welcoming. This place feels like a location for regulars in the area based on the locals that were coming in which means that this is a good establishment.
I will come back here more and more.

First time here and will definitely be back. Services was great, food was fantastic and we even got to sit outside (inside was very nice though).

Let me stop by saying that we’re a weekly customers at Ganga and that the food is usually excellent. Tonight though we had an experience that I just can’t believe. When we sat down at a bar table I noticed that table was sticky and dirty. They brought over our usual beverages as the bartender knows us well but I asked to please wash the table again before you put the beverages down. A very disrespectful foul mouth waitress came over and washed the table with the same dirty rag that had been used previously. I asked that she dry it because it stayed wet after she washed it but it was still sticky and I asked that she’d do it again and at that point she used a curse word and then another curse word and then said nobody wants to serve you here. When I asked the manager to come over and showed her that the table was still dirty she defended her employee and said that we’re always having trouble there wich I thought was pretty odd since we’re regular customers and I have had some incidents with her in the past regarding the size of a portion a fish. The manager has never smiled for us ever and never lest you win a point when something occurs in question. But we still were regular customers weekly for the most part and we love the bartenders and the service that we get. We always tip 20% plus and we’re always respectful with the bartenders and the staff. We have even become friendly with some of them who have gone on to other jobs and careers such as nurses for example.I believe I caught this waitress on a bad night, but she acted totally inappropriately. I don’t think we’ll ever go back to Ganga as we left in amazement. It’s a shame because we have many friends that frequent Ganga and we’ll have to let them know they won’t find us there anymore. All this because I wanted a clean tabletop. If you use the same dirty rag every time you clean a table all you do is push dirt around and it doesn’t get clean. There was no use of an antiseptic or any cleaning agent. And that’s a health care violation.. I must say that I have never been motivated to leave a review before, but this particular incident cannot go without being publicized.
Very disappointed!!!!

Gangs Japanese in Matawan is a great spot for fresh sushi and classic Japanese dishes. The rolls are well-made, flavorful, and consistently fresh, and the menu has a good variety for sushi lovers and non-sushi eaters alike. Service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. A solid choice for a casual dinner or takeout when you’re craving Japanese food.

We ordered a hot & sour soup to go. My wife ate it and felt something hard come to see there was this plastic thing.

Food was good, but there were limited vegetarian options. The menu did not distinguish what dishes were vegetarian, and a lot of dishes that looked vegetarian actually had a sauce that wasn’t. For starters, we ordered sweet potato sushi, vegetable sushi, and Indian pancake. Then we ordered a red curry, a vegetable wok, and a basic fried rice. Overall food tasted good and service was ok.
