The go-to spot for Indian food. Some of the best items are the Samosa Chaat, the lamb specials, and the garlic naan (if you love Garlic!). The appetizer + dessert that come with the set meals can not be beat in NYC. It is hard to find a place in NYC that offers this at a reasonable cost; Gandhi Cafe threads that needle well.
Service is kind and attentive. The music playing in the background is lovely.

The perfect place for some comfort Indian food! The service is great and the restaurant owner is the sweetest man. He makes sure everyone is taken care of and goes out of his way to ensure guests are enjoying the food. The food is amazing too! Presentation is great. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Dining at Gandhi Cafe today for lunch with a friend was a pure delight. The owner’s warmth and charm, the absolutely delicious food (including free extras we didn’t even request), the wonderful local vibe, and the much-appreciated super-low price all added up to my simply having to write this review!
Try it; you’ll love it!

Excellent little find. The food was delicious and the lunch special was very reasonable. For $9 you get a small appetizer soup combo, entrée, side of Nan, and a small dessert, perfect portion. Service was friendly. Second time was just as good. This place should be packed at lunchtime. Every visit is consistently good.

The man running this place is lovely. I stopped in the other day asking for a mango lassi to go, and I don’t think they typically do that. But he was really nice about it and the lassi was fresh and tasted homemade. I made sure to come back for dinner later in the week. Their food is great, everything is clean, the place is cute and cozy, and service is so friendly. I’m looking forward to coming back.

Not so conventional Halal Indian restaurant, offering unique dishes with some twist. Tried their salmon pakoras, lamb coconut kurma, lobster curry. Sorry to say, not my cup of tea, and didn’t enjoy that much. Nevertheless, good experience.

I wrote this while feeling a bit tipsy, but I believe it’s still true from the bottom of my heart.
I grabbed a seat just for myself, enjoying my own company, and watched the people around me—groups of friends, new lovers getting to know each other. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, savoring both the food and the atmosphere.
The flavors were rich, and the naan was unforgettable—the smell of the flour, with a satisfying crisp on both the top and bottom. The lamb masala was perfect for someone like me, who can’t handle too much spice. Its sweet, creamy profile paired wonderfully with the rice and naan.
I truly appreciate this restaurant, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.
