Absolutely awesome! Came here for lunch Sunday afternoon. Lots of seating at the bar and in the dining room. Light and bright. Very clean. Our server Haydee was very sweet! We ordered the Topsy, CR7, Hot August Night, fried banana and gyoza! Everything was amazing. Fresh, fast and beautiful. Great portions and very reasonably priced. They were very accommodating when a different fish was requested on one of the rolls. We will absolutely be back!

The sushi here is the best I’ve had in Carson, which is saying a lot as I have been to all the other sushi spots here. They don’t go overboard on the rice; there is more filling than rice, which is a big thing to me. I also noticed that the dish where I dipped my rolls into soy sauce had very little to almost no stray grains of rice after dipping because the rolls are rolled very well and don’t use excessive rice. That is a first for me here in Carson. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful; I got the CR7, Hot August Night and Protein Roll. The AYCE lunch was $27.95, which is comparable to other sushi spots here. I will definitely be back

My family & I tried this place out & were pleasantly surprised. The menu had some rolls we hadn’t tried along with our regulars. Everything was very tasty & fresh. The rolls were the perfect size for us.
Our daughters ordered the salmon platter & the tempura shrimp platter. Both of those were good also. The salmon platter was exceptional!
We all had the tempura bananas for dessert which were yummy too.
The waitresses we had were very friendly & kept our drinks full.
The sushi chefs forgot a couple of the rolls we had ordered, but that’s the only thing I can say that wasn’t great (but even with that, they made the rolls as soon as we mentioned a couple were forgotten & apologized).
The restaurant itself is very bright, clean & inviting.
We will definitely be back!

This is my go to Sushi place in Carson. Very clean! In fact, I don’t think Ive come across a more clean restaurant, in quite some time! Always fresh & tasty and the staff are all attentive & friendly.. They have some yummy Specialty Rolls (Ganbaru & Baja Hamachi are my current faves). They also have a specialty Nigiri called ‘Fat Boy’ and if you love all things salmon – order it up! Enjoy!

Finally tried this place! First let me say the service was great! I wish I got our servers name because she was very attentive. We got all you can eat at $33. They didn’t offer us a punch card and I forgot to ask. The sushi was just ok. All the rolls we got tasted like salmon so I kept checking the menu to see if I ordered the wrong roll but I didn’t. All the rolls we ordered were either shrimp tempura and or crab. As I was watching the chefs using the same knife to slice the fish and cut the rolls and same rag to wipe the counter as well as the knives is when I made the connection as to why everything tasted like salmon! I most likely won’t go back but if you want to try go during lunch so you’re not paying the $33!!! cost for dinner!

I came near closing time. They were very polite and helpful and made a very nice take out order. Restaurant is clean and bright with a nice atmosphere. I had 9 kinds of nigiri. All were good. I would come back. Very nice people.

(12/11/25) I love the Ganbaru Sushi. Great service and really yummy sushi rolls. We got so lucky to get this quality down in Minden/Carson City. This is my favorite local Sushi Joint. We go there all the time. The food is consistently delicious!

The food was good and we enjoyed what we ordered. However, the service really took away from the overall experience. The waitresses had a very “I don’t care” attitude, which made interactions feel dismissive rather than welcoming.
We chose the all-you-can-eat option for a 12-year-old. There was no age information listed on the menu or posted anywhere indicating age limits. When we received the bill, we were charged the adult all-you-can-eat price. Only then were we told that the kids’ all-you-can-eat option is only available up to age 11.
Clear communication on the menu or at the time of ordering would have avoided this confusion. While the food itself was good, the lack of transparency and poor service made the experience disappointing.

Best sushi in town! My husband and I now come here once a month, like clockwork, and never once left disappointed — only very full and very happy. The food is incredible (AYCE is where it’s at), the atmosphere is warm, and the staff is always great.
