Solid 10/10 flavor, service & ambiance. It’s located inside an older home on the river, which makes the character out of this world too. Styled perfectly, from the plates, to the interior & exterior of the building.
We had an amazing time at Game on the River! The wild game burgers are such a cool twist — I had the antelope burger and my fiancée went with the kangaroo. Both were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. We also tried the rabbit meatball appetizer, which was a fun and tasty start to the meal.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the beer selection was excellent — lots of local and craft options to choose from. The location is awesome too, right on the river with a great view. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to!
I was excited to try this restaurant as I have had a ton of friends and colleagues recommend it, but it did not live up to the expectations that they laid out.
We came in at around 6:30 and were immediately sat to a table in front of the fireplace. A bit confused as to why you’d continue to seat into an area where it was already a bit busy and loud. But anyways, onto the food.
Our party got the wagyu burger, elk burger and a prime angus burger. Sides were sweet potato fries and the Mac and cheese.
I’ll start with my entree which was the wagyu burger and sweet potato fries. The fries? Phenomenal. My burger? A bit of a disappointment. It was rather underwhelming for the price.
The elk burger entree was something new for our party. But it was extremely greasy and the bun ended up getting soaked through from the grease.
Lastly, the prime angus burger entree was dressed beautifully, but it was extremely over saturated with salt and burnt on the top/bottom. I’m not even sure how it was possible to be tender on the inside and charred on the outside, but that was our case.
The baked Mac and cheese was served with this entree and was also underwhelming too for the price. It was really dry and not flavored well at all.
The final thing that I must have a comment about is our server. She was very unwelcoming and did not check on our party. We were only three guests and placed order relatively quick. We had to ask her to refill our drinks on multiple occasions, but the other waitress caring in that area as well was staying on top of her guests. She also just seemed really annoyed and as if she did not want to be there.
I’d love to give this place another chance, but I’m not entirely too sure after the distasteful experience our first go around. I just hope that other guests have a better experience with the server that we did and maybe the food quality is better for their sake. Not happy with the price point and the quality delivered.
