Cool place that is a must try if you are in the area! We ordered the Bison and Wild Boar meatballs to get an idea of what we would like – both were excellent. I had the Bison burger and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. Husband had the Antelope burger and said it was delicious as well. Basket of fries was enough to share. Waitress was very friendly and helped us decide on what to try.

Everything was so delicious & seasoned just right!

•Sweet Thai Chili Brussel Sprouts•
•Asparagus•
•Fries with parmesan•

Solid 10/10 flavor, service & ambiance. It’s located inside an older home on the river, which makes the character out of this world too. Styled perfectly, from the plates, to the interior & exterior of the building.

Plenty of choices for trying somewhat exotic meats. All of us enjoyed our choices and the portions were generous. The appetizers were quite good. It was pretty cold in the restaurant when we were there so be prepared for that possibility.

Unique and Delicious Experience!
We had an amazing time at Game on the River! The wild game burgers are such a cool twist — I had the antelope burger and my fiancée went with the kangaroo. Both were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. We also tried the rabbit meatball appetizer, which was a fun and tasty start to the meal.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the beer selection was excellent — lots of local and craft options to choose from. The location is awesome too, right on the river with a great view. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to!

We actually came to this area to go to another restaurant down a few doors. It was so busy we left and came here. So glad we found Game on the River. We really enjoyed the food. The servers were super nice and friendly. My husband had the Mac and cheese and a variety of meatballs. I opted for a 1/2 salad and two meatballs. We ordered a small order of sweet potato fries as an appetizers. They brought me a mild sauce to go with them. I wish they would have had maple syrup. Over all we really enjoyed our visit, and may return before we leave the area.

This was our first experience trying The Game on the River, and overall it was quite positive. We ordered the nachos with chorizo and wild boar meat, as well as a salad. We also sampled the antelope and venison meatballs. Our server, Kyle, provided excellent service; he was not only informative but also patient, taking the time to explain the flavors and offering great suggestions. Everything we tasted was enjoyable, making for a memorable experience. We look forward to returning in the future to try more items from the menu!

Our first time there this afternoon and we had such a lovely time. Kyle was our server/bartender and he enlightened us about all the different meats available. We were both novices in this sort of restaurant but he explained everything so well. We ended up going with kangaroo , bison, antelope meatballs. Antelope for the Win. All were delicious. We also indulged in the bone marrow and holy moly, don’t skip on that or the scotch eggs. Pumped to go back. Kyle was the such a help for us.

The food was amazing! Pick you protein and it’ll be delicious. We got the Scotch eggs but there was no sausage around the egg so I’m not sure it counts.

Let me start off with I typically don’t leave negative reviews (check my history.. if you must).

I was excited to try this restaurant as I have had a ton of friends and colleagues recommend it, but it did not live up to the expectations that they laid out.
We came in at around 6:30 and were immediately sat to a table in front of the fireplace. A bit confused as to why you’d continue to seat into an area where it was already a bit busy and loud. But anyways, onto the food.

Our party got the wagyu burger, elk burger and a prime angus burger. Sides were sweet potato fries and the Mac and cheese.

I’ll start with my entree which was the wagyu burger and sweet potato fries. The fries? Phenomenal. My burger? A bit of a disappointment. It was rather underwhelming for the price.

The elk burger entree was something new for our party. But it was extremely greasy and the bun ended up getting soaked through from the grease.

Lastly, the prime angus burger entree was dressed beautifully, but it was extremely over saturated with salt and burnt on the top/bottom. I’m not even sure how it was possible to be tender on the inside and charred on the outside, but that was our case.
The baked Mac and cheese was served with this entree and was also underwhelming too for the price. It was really dry and not flavored well at all.

The final thing that I must have a comment about is our server. She was very unwelcoming and did not check on our party. We were only three guests and placed order relatively quick. We had to ask her to refill our drinks on multiple occasions, but the other waitress caring in that area as well was staying on top of her guests. She also just seemed really annoyed and as if she did not want to be there.

I’d love to give this place another chance, but I’m not entirely too sure after the distasteful experience our first go around. I just hope that other guests have a better experience with the server that we did and maybe the food quality is better for their sake. Not happy with the price point and the quality delivered.
