Highly Recommend!! This gem is a great example of why I prefer to find locally owned restaurants when I travel. They were very busy on Saturday night when I was there but I was seated and served quickly. The fresh Italian bread and butter could have been a meal itself it was so good! I had the Chicken Étouffée which was savory and fantastic. Fast friendly service and had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners (Tommy) who was busy checking with patrons to ensure all was good. Definitely looking forward to going back when I am in town again.

I really enjoyed coming here with my family and my husband. The waitress we had was also wonderful and gave us a great informative description of what to try on the menu. I loved trying the gumbo and the caesar salad with anchovies. It was absolutely delicious. The gumbo had so much flavor. The bread and butter compliments it very well. I had the vodka pasta as an entree and I loved it. We will definitely be coming back to try more! We didn’t have to wait to be served since we booked a reservation.

We went to Gallo’s tonight at 4pm hoping to enjoy their happy hour. They do not have a happy hour as is advertised. They did seat us, and we had a lovely waitress – very knowledgeable and kind (5 stars). At 4:45 pm, she politely told us that there is 90 minute time limit, so we had 45 minutes to order our food and be out of there. We were somewhat surprised since no one told us this when we arrived, and we were the only ones sitting in the dining room. Thinking she might have misunderstood the rule and that it was only during prime dining hours, we asked to speak to the manager. Our waitress did not misunderstand, and we needed to be out of the restaurant in 45 minutes because he had a busy schedule tonight. We asked him if we could start the time now, since they were still allowing open seating, and he told us no. He even told us that Kitchen Social has this 90 minute rule. We have eaten at Kitchen Social many times, and this is not the case unless you are sitting at the party table. Rather disappointed with this policy and that he was being dishonest. The menu does look very delicious, but I will never know for sure. I think fine food should be savored and not rushed, so we won’t be returning. We asked for our check and went to dine at The Wine Bistro which had great happy hour specials, wonderful servers, lovely atmosphere, and does not add a surcharge for using a credit card.

We had dinner at Gallo’s Kitchen & Bar again last night—something we do every so often—and once again it completely delivered. This place is just amazing. You can tell the cook is cooking with genuine love, and that care comes through in every single bite. The flavors are thoughtful, perfectly balanced, and consistently executed at a level you just don’t find everywhere.
Every time we eat here, I leave wondering the same thing: where is this chef’s Michelin star? The quality, creativity, and consistency are absolutely there. It’s one of those restaurants that reminds you what great food is supposed to feel like—comforting, exciting, and memorable all at once.
Hands down one of our favorite spots. We’ll keep coming back, and we’ll keep recommending it to anyone who appreciates truly great food.

I can’t even explain how perfect my meal was. I’ve had countless vodka sauce pastas around the country, and this has the be the best one I’ve ever had. The garlic, the bacon, the slightest, just enough tomato, just enough cream. Roasted chicken for some flavor depth. Every bite was an explosion of flavor. 10/10 perfection.
The chicken parmigiana was also incredible…breaded chicken breast cutlets have a tendency to dry out, not this one. Exploding with juice. And the Alfredo was the perfect amount of butter to cream to cheese ratio. This is what I’m looking for every time I order an Alfredo, and it’s hardly ever this good. They managed to capture these flavors without feeling like you’re eating a ton of grease/cream/heavy oil, either.
The gumbo was as good as you’ll find in NOLA,
And the roasted polenta was a nice way to start the meal without a heavy and fried appetizer.
Overall, perfect food…and it’s not often I say that. This place holds a candle and exceeds most of the high end white-tablecloth Italian restaurants you’ll find around the city, for a significantly cheaper price. Compliments to the chef!

Stopped in last night to meet a friend from out of town who loves this place. We had the aroncini and meatballs as appetizers. Both were delicious and portions were large! I had the crawfish etouffee and it was amazing. Just the right amount of spice and plenty of crawfish. The service and food here never disappoint. The parking is the only downside. They need more spaces.

Nice menu with lots of options. The service was excellent, we really enjoyed our waiter. The restaurant was nicely decorated. There was a private parking lot available for parking. And I have to mention that the bathroom smelled delightful, seems odd to say but it was the best smelling bathroom I’ve ever been in!

We walked in on a busy Friday evening and were lucky to find two seats at the bar.
Grab the bar seating if it’s available; the bartenders are friendly and engage their work conscientiously. They actively participate in setting the cocktail menu, and they are happy to venture out and experiment upon request. The spiced sazerac has very lovely spiced citrus aromatics and a pleasant wintry finish. (I didn’t see any “mix” from a mystery jug here.)
We started with the meatballs, enjoyed chicken piccatta and vodka pasta as entrées, and finished with the limoncello creme cake. The meatballs were very good, the entrées were excellent, and the cake was tasty (but the cake was the only item that didn’t project in-house charm).
We look forward to visiting again.
