We used to come here long long ago when there was a dirt parking lot and we remember the place fondly. They were able to put out delicious subs quickly at a reasonable price. Obviously time has changed since the dirt parking lot days. They have remodeled/rebuilt the building, modernized inside and now nice and bright. They even have a nice covered patio area to enjoy your sub. The subs are made fresh and still delicious, they literally cut our meat/cheese when we ordered. And that’s probably why their service is quite slow at times. Their prices are on the high side, but I imagine it’s not cheap to operate in Newport. Also, the subs are pretty hearty, we were able to eat just half of the regular. Overall, if you want freshly made subs that will fill your tummy with all the goodness, then this is the place to get your sub. Grab a sub at Gallo’s and walk over to the beach to enjoy your day.

Good selection of sandwich choices but the highlight of this deli is definitely their bread. The only small complaint I have is they pre slice their meat (which is not a problem) but this means they will put the sauce and veggies on the sandwich first and as a result, the meat has a tendency to slide out as you can see from my picture.

This place has been around for as long as i can remember and I’m 53. We were sad when they closed their doors thinking they called it quits but luckily for us it was just for remodeling. Menu isn’t HUGE or overly complicated. Just subs that have been curated and has withstood the times. I hope this place is around so my kids can take their kids to experience these amazing subs.

This place is so mid. Coming from people who are sandwich snobs, this place is trash. One of the nastiest sandwiches we’ve eaten. They offer one roll which was so stale, the employees have no idea what they’re doing, they will ask you what sandwich and you tell them you’d like the sandwich as is, and they proceed to leave out like 3 of the toppings that are clearly listed on that sandwich, had to remind them 2 times. They nearly forgot to put the meat on my Turkey Sandwich.. we ended up going back in and having them remake the sandwich for a completely different item because it was so bad and not enjoyable. Wouldn’t recommend this place

What can one say about the great & longstanding Gallo’s Italian Deli, staple in CdM! I am completely ecstatic that it’s been over two years since Gallo’s reopened. The baguette bread is always daily fresh as well as the meats whether hot or cold and the wonderful variety of cheeses and fresh condiments. The Gallo’s crew has remained and always deliver when it comes to the outstanding made-to-order sandwiches. They all are always so friendly and so very accommodating especially Jose and Albert and that always so cheerful and service with a smile Melissa!

This place is a hidden gem! The service was amazing and they were so kind and friendly. The place is well kept and cared for. The sandwich was delicious and incredibly affordable. For $25 my girlfriend and I got to have a beach picnic with a full sandwich, Mac salad, two cokes, and a large bag of chips! We will absolutely be back!! Thank you to the sweet lady at the register and the kind chef who made our sandwich!
