My wife was craving vongole pasta, so we decided to go out for Italian and chose this place based on the reviews—and it did not disappoint. We started with Cozze al Vino Bianco, and it was absolutely amazing. The mussels were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the white wine sauce was so good we ended up dipping our bread into it after finishing. The bread itself was warm, fresh, and paired perfectly with olive oil and balsamic.
After that, we were really excited for the vongole pasta. The sauce was a little different from what we expected, but when we mentioned it, the manager kindly let us know that we can request the same sauce as the mussels next time, which we really appreciated.
I also loved the small details—how they decorate the plates with fresh basil leaves. Such a cute and thoughtful touch that really elevates the presentation.
The interior was beautiful and cozy, with a perfect special-occasion and date-night vibe. Combined with the incredibly friendly and kind servers, the whole experience felt warm and memorable. Great food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere—definitely a 5-star experience. We’ll be back for sure! ✨

We loved coming here! The atmosphere is beautiful, warm, and welcoming. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the owner is an amazing host and a very nice man. Most importantly, the food was so delicious. I loved the octopus salad and that was my favorite part of the meal and I highly recommend it. I got the tomato basil pasta and it was simple, delicious, and fresh. The prices were good here too. Highly recommend if you’re in the area! 🙂

Last minute stay in NJ and let me tell you this was the BEST FIND. We are celebrating my dad’s birthday so I saw the reviews and had to come. Let me start with the ambiance was beautiful and cozy. We met the owner Marchello and his lovely wife, warm welcoming and soooo much history in the making of this restaurant. Fresh oven baked bread at the beginning. Everything we ordered was exceptional! I had the languini cacio e Pepe WOW , ragatoni pollo pazzo , crab cakes and grilled octopus. EVERYTHING was delicious and the flavors stood out on their own. Let me tell you alot of places don’t know how to cook octopus, this octopus melted in your mouth. Recommend everything. We also ordered an oven baked pizza because we needed to try it too Come here for not only the 10/10 food but 10/10 atmosphere. You feel welcomed right away and you will feel like coming back again Thank you Gallo Nero for making my dad’s birthday an amazing experience ❤️

I totally recommend this place! I went with my daughter for a lunch date, amazing service. Everyone is accommodating and welcoming, the food is great. The pricing is reasonable for the services and food you get. It’s a very calm place with nice areas in the restaurant to take pictures. I totally recommend, HIGHLY SATISFIED.

Coming off a trip to Italy, I was craving Italian food that was authentic enough to make me feel like I was back in Roma. My fiance and I ordered cacio e pepe, pollo carbonara and Lamb shank with polenta and they were the best we’ve had in the area. We consumed them so quickly we forgot to take pictures but I assure you, the food was absolutely delicious. We also got the tiramisu which was amazing. The owner and his staff were beyond welcoming and were very attentive. We are excited to return to try more dishes!

We started with the grilled octopus, and I’m still dreaming about it. Perfectly tender—like butter—and seasoned so beautifully it didn’t need anything else. The fresh bread served beforehand was also incredible: warm, crusty, and a perfect match for the meal.
I ordered the fettuccine bolognese, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The pasta was clearly homemade, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The meat sauce? Rich, savory, and expertly seasoned—easily one of the best I’ve had. My wife had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, and she couldn’t stop raving about it. Creamy, flavorful, and packed with juicy shrimp.
Even our daughter had a blast with her meal! She got the chicken cutlet with fries, and let me tell you—it was so good we had to restrain ourselves from stealing bites off her plate. Crispy, tender, and just perfectly done.
We were too full for dessert right there, but we grabbed some tiramisu to go—and based on how everything else tasted, I already know it’s going to be amazing.
A special shout-out to Carlos, our server. He was friendly, incredibly informative, and gave us the best recommendations that elevated our experience even further.

I am usually not the type to write a review but for the owner of Gallo Nero ( Marcello ) I will ❤️. First off I want to thank Marcello for all his kindness and hard work he pulled off with his chef for 50 plus people! The food was amazing . The experience was great !!! I had a small civil order wedding with all my close friends and family. For a small great private event it was definitely worth it !!! His restaurant was beautifully decorated already which caught our attention!
As you could see Marcello was very attentive in all aspects of the night , he shows lots of love and dedication. 1000% I recommend ❤️

First time at this restaurant celebrating my nieces baptism. We had the family style dinner and they did not disappoint. What a great Italian Restaurant up in this Bergenline area thats known for more hispanic cuisine.
My family and I love Italian food and the food here was absolutely delicious!!!!! I wish my stomach could hold more food because I wanted to eat more, but I was so stuffed!
For appetizers, we had the bruschetta, caprese, cesar salad and calamari. All came out fresh and so flavorful.
Dinner plates were the carbonara, lemon chicken, chicken parm, and salmon. Not one dish was under seasoned. Everything had such great flavor and cooked to perfection. I recommend it aaaaaallll!!!! so so so delicious (my mouth is watering now thinking back to dinner time)
Their service was great. They were all so super sweet and attentive. They always made sure we were good they kept up with finished plates and drinks that needed refills. The table never felt crowded.
The place is so beautifully decorated and we were able to take such nice pictures.
I will definitely be back with my friends and family when we’re looking to eat some delicious Italian Cuisine. I prefer this restaurant over Olive Garden hands down!
