The Galero Grill café has now reopened with True local Chef Alan Mork. A Grab and Go style Café offering a hot line with daily specials and traditional Café fare such as Burgers & Fries, Beyond Burger, Hot & Cold Sandwiches, Salads, and Homemade Soups, as well as popular local items such as Quesadillas, Taco Salad, Tacos and Burritos. The Cold case offers a variety of delicious and healthy Gourmet Salads and sandwiches. The Gourmet coffee bar featuring Lavazza Coffee and fresh baked goods is a popular morning spot for downtown locals as well as visitors. There is a limited seating inside the Café and seating for 200 on the large European Style Cathedral Plaza.

Often times a church will provide free coffee and pastry. However at the Queen of Angel Cathedral breakfast items can be purchased at this cafe. The coffee and pastries tasted good. They also sell lattes. You can also purchase hot item such as breakfast burritos. I also noticed there is a lunch menu.
Plenty of seating both outside and inside. I noticed most church goers don’t come here as there was not a large line as I expected. Prices are on the slightly lower side relative to what you might find in downtown cafe.

Cheapest bite around court area is their $4 hot dog. Takes credit card. Gives you water cup. Located inside Cathedral area. Enter on Temple street, and it’ll be up the stairs to your right by gift shops.

They have lunch specials that varies day by day. Lunch specials includes a small drink for $9.99. My go to is their veggie quesadilla for $6. It includes a side of guac, pico de gallo, and sour cream. They charge 50 cents for extra sides. Great spot for when you are serving jury duty at either Stanley Mosk courthouse or the Criminal Justice Center. It’s about a 5 mins walk.

Sadly, change of ownership has resulted in three times the price and none of the good food. Today had two meager cold sandwiches on stale croissant with a handful of stale chips for $30. Miss the $6.50 loaded tostada with house made salsa that would kick start your afternoon.
