As a local, have been coming here for weekend breakfast for 15+ and despite the area’s population growth (ie. Longer waits) this place is still an absolute gem. Great food, small town mom & pop ambiance and great service. All the staff are great but, if you’re lucky enuff to get Jennifer or Megan as your servers, you will be treated A+. One recent bad experience was via Sarah who literally yelled at us for missing our “table ready” text message and was rude otherwise (a trend with this greeter we were confided) but, that one instance will never diminish the small town diner magic that is GD!

Such a cute little diner in a quiet area. It was definitely a little pricey for a diner, with meals around $15-25 range but the atmosphere was cute and quaint. I had the reuben which was tasty but slightly on the dryer side. Ask for extra dressing. Would definitely go back and try other entrees and look forward to trying their breakfast next time.

This was our first time trying this restaurant cause we heard from our church that this was a good place to eat. It was a bit crowded and loud on one side of the diner and other side was a little more roomer and we could hear each other talk. The server was very good and friendly, she even explain the pictures on the wall (we enjoyed looking at them) which was very interesting. The food wasn’t bad either but the management was Very rude.

The ventilation isn’t the best so the inside smells of old grease- which isn’t good for someone with breathing issues, but the place was super hot last night which exacerbated any breathing issues.
The food was good. I wouldn’t get the chicken again, it wasn’t to my liking (grilled) my son also didn’t like the tenders. It wasn’t the spices or breading it was the chicken itself. Had a rubbery taste.
The burger was outstanding, fries fresh and delicious. We enjoyed the cake and the salad was spectacular aside from the protein portion.
The service was really great! Friendly folks who were super quick to clean tables when folks left.
We would definitely return- maybe to try the outdoor seating in the fall.

I meet friends for dinner monthly ai our traditional spot near by but we ended up on a different day and that spot was closed. I will say I was not disappointed the meal was really good, the heater in the ceiling will make you shed layers. It’s going to be a tough decision next month.

I recently dined at Galena Diner and had a wonderful experience. I ordered the Barbecue Bacon Burger, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked with a great balance of smoky barbecue flavor and crispy bacon. The portion size was just right, and the burger was juicy and flavorful from the first bite to the last.
The highlight of my visit, though, was the service. My server, Brielle, did an exceptional job. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was to my satisfaction. Her excellent service truly elevated the dining experience, making me feel welcomed and well taken care of. I love this place. 1st time there, the lemon with blueberry pancakes are yummy, good coffee, my son said his food was good. Not real busy today. 2/1/25. Waitress was awesome!!

Dog friendly seating and amazing service the food is amazing here and the staff are very courteous and happy. The atmosphere is very casual and quiet. Early in the morning the place had a quite a lot of traffic so clearly the locals consider this diner an important staple in the community and it shows!
