Heber has never had art on the plate like this! This little appetizer was not only beautiful but it was absolutely delicious. The flavor of the sauces, light breading on calamari and shrimp made for a fantastic late afternoon snack for a visit with a friend! They also have a specialty cocktail menu that was impressive as well.

Honestly some pretty solid food. The calamari was actually really good although the mayonnaise was pretty generic. I had the spaghetti carbonara, and the other have had the short rib with polenta. The server said the spaghetti carbonara was authentic, and that was a bit of a stretch, and buy a bit I mean a lot I mean it wasn’t even remotely. It did taste good in general. Authentic was exactly what it wasn’t. But, it did taste good even though it was likely cooked on a dirty cast iron that carried some flavor through.

The short rib was absolutely spot-on and was delicious. The polenta what’s good with balance texture and the flavor of the short rib was good.

Overall it was a pretty good experience, but I’m absolutely dinging it one star on whatever they claim was authentic carbonara and the fact that they charge a credit card fee on a restaurant where you usually going to drop over $100 per 2 people. There’s nothing more than enrages me the nonsense fees on restaurants that are they charge ridiculous prices basic foods such as pasta.

I would go again, but I probably pay in pennies.

Best Italian food I’ve ever tasted. I came from California for a nursing clinical and decided to explore on my day off. Luckily I found this gem in downtown SLC and is hands down the best Italian food I’ve ever had. All the food is made fresh and the service is amazing. The manager Martha was very nice and welcoming. Come here if you want good food! Will definitely be coming back on my next trip.

Overall it was a very great experience. The staff was super attentive and attended us quickly. The atmosphere is good, tables are properly spaced out and is not noisy.

I really enjoyed the mussels, it was the first time I tried them with cappers and loved the flavor combination. For mains we went for the black linguine with salmon and the paccheri al forno. The paccheri portion was huge and delicious. I loved the fact that the food was served warmed and it was very comforting. I highly recommend and will be coming back.

Before I leave Utah my hubby asked me what u feel like eating , name anything I will take you on a date . So as a woman who is married to an Italian man I have decided I wanna try some real authentic Italian food besides my mother’s in laws food .

Now the dilemma was to find a authentic one, because as we all know when it comes to traditional food from different countries lots of restaurants claims to be authentic but when you eat their food they disappoint you . This time I have an Italian with me so it was much easier to enjoy than worried about if it’s real Italian food .

Very easy to find the restaurant in Salt Lake City (Downtown) , loved the high ceiling & the pictures of famous people in black & white.

If I am not mistaken it was the owner who welcomed us, older gentleman who was very respectful & kind. Customer service was excellent.

Let’s talk about the food now, we ordered Eggplant parmigiana, Ravioli ara aragosta, 2 different flavors of Penna Cotta . I loved the coffee flavor much better than the fruit one actually. They gave us freshly made bread with sauce & it was yummy . I ordered the lobster & it was good . Somehow I expected more out from this dish but my husband actually loved it . So that makes a point that everyone has different choices. I did loved the eggplant parmigiana. I was gonna try their Cappuccino because I never leave an Italian restaurant without trying their Cappuccino. It feels like something is missing but I was actually very full & was getting late, I need to sleep lol..!

We both used the restroom & it was very nice and clean. You can see my pictures that I loved that mirror lol ! Only thing that bugged me was that there was no hook or anything to put my purse in, didn’t like a bit that I had to put my purse on the floor ! I did recommend to the owner & he was very nice and understanding about it . Also said he will make sure they put it there. I love the fact he did not get offended or anything.

So as per as our experience with this amazing restaurant was exceptional, we loved how welcoming they make us feel. Especially the older gentleman who actually came to my husband & ask him how can he make our experience better. Tell you the truth this never happened to us before, ever ! Even tho he didn’t know that my husband is in military he actually went above & beyond for us. I am pretty sure he does this to all his customers because that’s how amazing of a person he is ! I will never forget his hospitality, if I end up moving to Utah this will be one of our go to places _____

I will say here the same I said in Yelp:

For my birthday, my daughter insisted we try Galeno’s—and oh my goodness, what a revelation! I’ve always adored Eggplant Parmigiana, and my wife, a proud descendant of the Countess of Altafin, has brought the rich traditions of Italian cuisine into our home. When we make fresh pasta from scratch—just egg and flour—it tastes remarkably like what Galeno’s serves. That’s saying something.

I’ve traveled the world, and in every city, I’ve hunted down restaurants that serve Eggplant Parmigiana. But this one… THIS ONE… is the holy grail. Stop the world—I found it!

Galeno’s is elegant without being intimidating. It welcomes you with warmth, charm, and a touch of nostalgia. The walls are adorned with photos of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr., giving it a classic vibe. Bright, modern, yet timeless with its columns and vintage flair.

And then there was our waitress—a lovely Brazilian woman with flawless English and all the grace and warmth you’d expect. She explained the menu beautifully. The dish I craved was only served at dinner, but she convinced the chef to prepare it especially for me at lunchtime. That gesture alone made the day unforgettable. We chatted, laughed, and even got a complimentary dessert so we could sing “Happy Birthday.”

If you love authentic Italian food, a clean and inviting ambiance, and service that makes you feel like royalty—Galeno’s is your place.

This is a nice place. The openness of the space makes it feel almost like solo dining. The food was nice and the portions were generous. The staff were very friendly and polite.

Great food our kids loved it. Service was excellent. Great prices and large portions the chicken parmesean was almost the size of the whole plate. Will be coming back often.

It was nothing spectacular. There was a large piece of onion peel in the pomodoro sauce which should have been caught by the chef. Also the pesto gnocchi didn’t have much flavor. It really lacked. As for the Gorgonzola fettuccine it really lacked the Gorgonzola… Overall I would try another place.
