Came here on a Saturday night and had a fantastic time! They had live band playing who were phenomenal and really added to the ambiance.

Everything on the menu was delicious! Drinks were stellar as well, you couldn’t really go wrong with anything you order. We had some martinis and wine. This being my husband and I’s first time here, we had to order the ribs. They were fall off the bone where you can eat neatly with a knife and fork so I was in heaven! The sauce they use is delicious, definitely a hit! Highly recommend the kale salad and the burrata. We saved room for dessert, which was a difficult decision because they have an extensive dessert menu. Ended up with carrot cake, but need to come back to try their other offerings.

They were running behind as tables weren’t leaving (probably due to the excellent music and cool vibes of the place) so we were seated well past our reservation time, but the owner came by, introduced himself, and bought us a drink which more than made up for it. It’s a hot commodity to snag a table and I can’t wait to be back!

First time at Gale Street Inn and it was a wow factor for me! It’s in the family friendly Jefferson Park. It has plenty of free parking as well. I ordered the ribs, brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese. There was enough to share as the portions are generous. These are the best ribs in town! I couldn’t put them down. The sides had so much flavor. All I thought about is…when am I coming back for more ribs! Every person that worked there was kind, friendly and inviting. We went for Fat Tuesday and there was a live band. The seating is spaced so there is ample room from other tables. You are able to hold a conversation.
Loved dinner, service, ambiance and location. Definately adding to my regular restaurant rotations

I went last night, on a Thursday evening, with a large group of 9 people. We had reservations and there was no wait. The service, food and atmosphere are all fantastic. I was a little earlier than the rest of my group. We were greeted by two top notch hosts who told us our table was all set and ready. The server (I think his name was Alex) promptly came by, greeted us and got us a drink while we waited. I really dig the atmosphere, it feels classic and modern at the same time. They had a live jazz trio playing a few times throughout the evening. The manager came over a few times to ask how everything was, so we could really tell they care about your dining experience. And of course, all the food was great! We had the bread rolls, calamari and stuffed mushrooms for apps and then I had the ribs, mac & cheese and fries for the main. The ribs are fall off the bone and likely do not need any additional sauce. Even the little cup of coleslaw was good. The menu is small, but I think it’s smart of them to keep options limited and just do every dish really well. I don’t think I had one bite of food that I didn’t enjoy. I cannot recommend Gale Street enough for a date, large parties (with reservations) and just a nice dinner out. This is my first time coming here, and I will be back to try more!

So glad Paulo, the owner we met last night, brought this place back to life. Gayle Street Inn was and is a jewel in our community. It feels like a Wisconsin supper club, a New Orleans jazz lounge, a fine dining room, and a casual neighborhood bar rolled into one.

You get high quality food and drinks in a relaxed setting. You can show up in jeans and a T shirt like I did, or dress up if you want. Both fit.

The ribs are different than before but still excellent. The au gratin potatoes are also different, yet still good. The highlight of the night was the Hearts on Fire mezcal cocktail with Tajín on the rim. Outstanding.

Paulo greeted us when we were seated and spent about 15 minutes talking with us again before we left. That level of attention matters.

The short rib pierogi are not cheap, but worth it. Fair warning if you do not like heat. The lobster risotto has a noticeable kick.

Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. We will be back. Five stars across the board.

We’re back baby! The reopened Gale Street Inn has the adored “big hitters” of the original restaurant, along with some exciting new options to try. My husband and I shared a full rack of ribs with a side of roasted broccolini and mac & cheese. All three were beyond delicious. The ribs are still fall off the bone my friends!

It was amazing to see old faces, along with welcoming and charming new ones. Paolo, the new owner was so welcoming. It is the old wonderful ambiance, with an exciting new energy. Thank you so much for rebirthing this gem back into the JP 🙂

Honestly, I’ve lived in Jefferson Park for over 15 years. It was sad to see a old icon in this neighborhood leave. But there’s more, New owners new breath of life. I did wait a few months, of course, to get the true setting of this place now. Very subtle changes. Menu was a little smaller, but that’s okay. Service was outstanding. Very nice , intimate setting. Children are allowed , which is very important. Management very willing to work with seating and accommodations. Bartender was very friendly. Our server, Nataki was very sweet. Ribs just as juicy. Portions were great size. Loved the mushrooms . I will definitely come visit again. This continues the legacy of Jeff Park.

Did someone say ribs? Gale Street Inn is back, and somehow, it’s even better than I remembered. My family of five, plus one extra guest, had dinner there tonight, and wow, it did not disappoint! The ribs were incredible…possibly even better than the countless times I enjoyed them back when I lived in Jefferson Park. The skinny fries were perfectly seasoned and totally addictive.

Paulo, the owner, stopped by several times to say hello and made us feel genuinely welcome. Our server, Charlie, was attentive, kind, and on top of everything. Our drinks were refilled before we even had to ask, and the food arrived quickly. They took special care with my son’s peanut allergy, which we deeply appreciated. The kids were thrilled with their coloring pages and crayons. And to top it all off, there was live music.

What more could you want? We’ll absolutely be back! I’m so happy this neighborhood gem is still going strong.

Gale Street Inn is BACK and better than ever! Beautiful upscale dining on the NW side, also family & group friendly.

Location: Conveniently located across the street from CTA buses / blue line, & Union Pacific Northwest metra stop! perfect place to pop by for a bite or drink while in Jefferson Park, or for any special occasion.

The ambience: inside is lovely (great warm lighting, beautifully appointed decor, occasional live music) and heartwarming to see some familiar faces in the wait staff.

Food & Bev: rest assured many of their food staples are still available (the ribs, tomatillo soup, bread with honey butter & au gratin potatoes are better than ever)…also excellent drink selections (cocktails, wine, beer)

+ some very welcome new additions to the menu, including but not limited to:
– calamari
– steak frites (fries are perfection)
– beet & pistachio salad
– kale cesar salad
