Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere and great service.
Ezme, the traditional Turkish Tomato spread was just mouth watering. For main course I enjoyed grilled chicken with salad and fries. I could not have enough of it. Prices were good and service was timely.

I had an amazing experience at Galata Doner & Kebab on Eastern Avenue in New Jersey. From the moment I walked in, the service was excellent. Our waiter was absolutely wonderful and very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. She did a great job assisting us, making sure we were comfortable, and answering any questions we had, which really added to the overall experience. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The doner was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared, and every bite showed the quality and care put into the food. Even the tea was excellent and a perfect way to finish the meal. Everything we tried was delicious and authentic. Overall, this restaurant exceeded my expectations. I would definitely visit Galata Doner & Kebab again and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Turkish food or is looking to try something new and flavorful.

Really good Turkish food, the Gyro Kebab was excellent, and all other dishes were just very tasty (lentile soup, home made ayran were delicious). Love the ambiance inside, elegant and clean.

Came here after TaeKwonDo to celebrate completing our first session (aka did not feel like cooking that day). There were so many interesting things to try on the menu, but we settled for Zuchinni cakes, Yogurt Chicken, and small Gyro meal. We also tried their Yogurt drink. Note that none of these are the original food names.
I would recommend against Yogurt drink unless you REALLY like drinking actual Yogurt with additional sourness. HOWEVER yogurt chicken is one of the best surprise combinations I have experienced as of late. The creaminess and tart go so very well with tender chunks of meat and carbs. And the portion lasted me 2 more leftover meals, still just as tasty as serving day.
The kids enjoyed it too, although their meal consisted of 90% pita bread. They loved the warm softness of it.

We were excited to finally try this new spot after enjoying amazing döner in Berlin, where my son lives. We even mentioned to the host that one of our athletes from Germany was looking forward to it.
Unfortunately, when we arrived at 7:30 pm, we were told we couldn’t dine in because the items we ordered ends at 4 pm for take out only at this time.
The restaurant was completely empty, tables set, lights on, yet we were told it was “about the vibe.” That makes no sense. A restaurant with zero customers on a Monday night shouldn’t be turning away people who want to eat there.
Instead of enjoying the meal inside, the four of us ended up eating in the car. The food was not the issue; it was actually very good on my paper bag tray. but the experience left us baffled and disappointed. If you want to build loyal customers, stop hiding behind “vibe” and let people enjoy the food in the actual dining room. Especially, when it is totally empty.

Tried here for the first time and love it. My go to was another Turkish restaurant down in New Brunswick that has gotten increasingly more expensive and gives poor quality bread. Galata is a lot closer to me and serves delicious food. The meat is well seasoned high-quality, and the bread is also baked fresh. Lastly the staff is very friendly , a winning combination in my eye.

We tried both the chicken doner kebab and the lamb doner at this Turkish restaurant. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, while the lamb had a rich flavor and was cooked perfectly. The portions were generous, and the bread was fresh. Service was friendly and fast. A nice place to enjoy authentic Turkish food!
