A special shoutout to my server Eri, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I also want to thank the manager, Natali, who was so sweet and always checking in on guests. Her engagement and awareness of the restaurant’s atmosphere really added to the experience.
Overall, the hospitality here is outstanding, making it one of my favorite Mediterranean spots in the city. I loved everything about it!
We started with the pita bread tasting, which was a great way to begin the meal. The bread was warm, fresh, and paired beautifully with the accompaniments. It set the stage for what turned out to be a very satisfying dinner.
For the main course, we ordered the lamb chops and a kebab entrée. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and paired wonderfully with the potatoes. Each bite was rich and well-balanced, showing the care that goes into preparation. The kebab plate was equally impressive. It came with soft pita bread, fresh greens, and crispy French fries, making it both tasty and filling. The flavors were spot-on, and the portions were generous without feeling overwhelming.
Service throughout the evening was attentive and professional, matching the high-end feel of the restaurant. The staff made sure everything arrived on time and were happy to answer questions or offer recommendations.
Overall, Gaia Mediterranean delivers excellent food, a refined atmosphere, and a polished dining experience. If you’re looking for upscale Mediterranean cuisine that’s both flavorful and satisfying, this is a place well worth visiting.
Absolutely gorgeous place — high ceilings, chandeliers, and stunning mosaics that feel like a fresco in a basilica. The food was fresh and delicious — Hamachi crudo and tuna tartare were perfection, and even the salads, cauliflower, and baklava were amazing. The French wine was excellent too.
The only downside was that some waiters were in training during service — and we preferred the servers to bring and serve the food themselves instead of us doing it. But shoutout to assistant manager Jack for making sure we had a great time and everything went smoothly. Overall, beautiful ambiance, fantastic food, and great vibes. Definitely coming back, especially on Thursdays or Saturdays for the live music and show!
New York is such a large city with countless dining options, and we had originally planned to try several different restaurants during our stay. However, our experience that first night was so impressive that we decided to return the very next day, this time with my husband, who had just joined us. Once again, the team made us feel truly valued as guests. We were even treated to a complimentary dessert, which was a lovely and thoughtful gesture.
Everything—from the atmosphere to the cuisine to the impeccable service—was nothing short of spectacular. We will unquestionably return on our next trip to New York, and I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the city. You do not want to miss this remarkable dining experience.
Our reservation was honored right on time, and the evening flowed beautifully course by course. We started with the tasting dips and spinach pie, both perfectly balanced and flavorful. For mains, we had the branzino fillet, organic chicken, and paccheri pasta. Each dish thoughtfully executed and generously portioned.
The branzino stood out with its delicate fennel purée, which paired wonderfully with the bed of spinach and the fish itself. The organic chicken was incredibly juicy, seasoned just right, full of flavor without being overpowering. The paccheri pasta had the perfect amount of truffle shavings; the earthy notes were distinct yet mellow, sitting beautifully on the palate.
Their wine selection was excellent, and they even treated us to Champagne to celebrate the birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Desserts were outstanding and refreshingly not overly sweet. The baklava with classic vanilla gelato was perfectly balanced. The pistachio cake with fresh cream was moist and rich, the chocolate mousse enhanced with raisins had wonderful layers of flavor, and the fig gelato was a delightful surprise. I’d never had fig gelato before, and it was absolutely delicious, it’s perfect for anyone who enjoys figs.
Service truly elevated the experience. Our server was warm, attentive, and never rushed us, allowing us to fully enjoy each course before checking in. A woman at the entrance, possibly the manager, made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening, which added a very personal touch. The entire staff was welcoming and genuinely kind.
The ambience deserves its own mention, simply stunning!! We visited on a Wednesday and were pleasantly surprised by a mini fashion-show-style lineup, a unique and unexpected touch that made the night even more memorable.
Highly recommend Gaia to anyone visiting New York City or looking for an unforgettable dining experience. Always have a reservation if possible. We’ll definitely be back.
