GAI Chicken & Rice is hands down my go-to spot for amazing chicken sandwiches whenever I’m in SF! These sandwiches are some of the best I’ve had—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Decent portion sizes, delicious sauces, and the second time ordering take-out from here. Decided to try the wings (no complaints) and tried the Gai Sando, but it’s pretty heavy (butter isn’t needed on the bun IMO and the chicken was on the saltier side). Not sure if we’ll be ordering the Sando again, but everything else was great.

Was walking in the area and the signage attracted us in. Very straight forward menu with clear listings. First time to ever tried this cuisine and it was tasty. Chose two different sauces and both were amazing. The soup that comes with the plate was also delicious.

Came here before the Spiderverse concert. It was super easy to order and the food came out fast!
Good:
– The chicken and rice default dish was great and there was so much flavor in the simple ingredients – it’s also a good portion size
– Seating was tight but it was decently easy to grab a table and get set up.
Bad:
– The place is pretty dingy and casual, with no service and it’s a seat-yourself type of situation
Overall this place is a fun place to get a quick healthy bite! I enjoyed that it was overall good value and relatively inexpensive for a hearty portion.

Love the Lean Gai with 1/2 chicken rice & 1/2 salad. The Hoi A sweet and tangy sauce is so yummy! This is my go to. It’s a must have so go check it out. You won’t be sorry.

I can’t believe I am just finding out about this place now! I ordered a combo through Uber eats and everything was fresh, but most importantly delicious. I had a poached egg and it was done perfectly through delivery! That is unbelievable. The chicken breast was poached perfectly and the flavors are … wow, just wow.
