Stopped by Gai Chicken & Rice for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The grilled chicken was juicy and nicely charred, paired with fluffy ginger rice, fresh cucumbers, sweet corn, and cherry tomatoes. The green chili sauce packed a punch and tied everything together beautifully.
I also appreciated the side of clear soup—it balanced out the richness of the meal. Portions were decent for a quick meal, though I wouldn’t have minded a bit more chicken for the price. Service was quick and smooth, and the food was ready within minutes. Definitely a great grab-and-go spot near Fulton St!
Would return again for the crispy chicken next time.
Only 2 small tables for a quick meal, it is actually a take away store.
(I’ve visited Gai 3 times within 3 weeks already)
Unfortunately, they didn’t give me soup even though it was supposed to come with soup. They also didn’t give me the sauce that the fried chicken was supposed to come with. I was very disappointed by that, I should have definitely checked the bag sooner :/
I also wish this location served thai iced tea. I still recommend and will be back!
No.
I tried the steamed chicken and there were feather caps still on my chicken. I almost threw up
I give this place six months. The food is not appealing.
I miss Bennie’s Thai restaurant. There steam chicken and rice with fish sauce on the side was delicious.
