Down-to-earth neighborhood hangout with counter seats dishing up an array of American classics.

This is more of a seat yourself situation restaurant. We were served quickly with water when we were greeted and then looked briskly over the menu. We chose the onion rings for our app, the bonsai nachos for entree, and the chicken tenders with sweat potato fries. The onion rings came out very fast with the waiter telling us not to expect anything else to come out quickly… that was odd to say but ok. The onion rings were bland and flavorless and needed some kind of dipping sauce but all we could get was ketchup. When we were served our meal again we were told not to expect anything else this quickly ever again… and again it was strange. The nachos were par for the course with nothing really special to them and made me wonder why I ordered them in the first place. Probably because it had the word bonsai in the name. The chicken tenders were fine and again par for the course but the sweet potato fries were limp and kind of soggy. If this is your only choice of restaurant then I guess it will do but you can get better quality food elsewhere.

This place has really good Chili– it is thick and hearty, great sauce, beans with meat. They call this the “Woman Made Chili”, but they have another one called “White Chili” which I haven’t had yet. Also had the Reuben Sandwich, which is really good and I would like to have again. All these dishes seem almost home made, really well done.

Gadwall’s is consistently good! I usually get the burger and some cheese dip as those are my favorite things there. And don’t skimp on desserts! Leah is one of my favorite servers but all of the staff are knowledgeable, fast, and funny.

Good food at a local spot recommended to us and we’re glad we went. Patty melt was great, chicken fried chicken was good, onion rings were awesome and soaked salad was very good. Service was friendly and prices were decent. All-in-all a good dinner out while in the Little Rock area.

They never disappoint!
Great food and fast friendly wait staff. We started with fried pickles, yes fried but lite, not greasy and not heavy on the stomach . Shannon had the build your own bologna sandwich a thick cut of bologna on Texas Toast. I had the classic cheese burger with onion rings both delicious. A word about the onion rings, you know how in some places you take a bite of your ring and the entire onion slides out one end. Not these, each bite is a lightly battered bite of equal parts onion and batter with the rest of the ring staying intact.

This is a nice old fashioned neighborhood type place. They have made from scratch Onions Rings. The Cheese Burger is excellent. But I can’t resist a chillidog. The one shown was the long version and it was hot and as good as it looks. The show stopper is the Onion Rings, best in the county. This may be the last place where you can get an actual from scratch onion ring. New development has been constructed around it, so the entrance I as not obvious. But it’s worth a little effort to find!

This place is freakin’ fantastic! Ohh my gosh. This was my first time here, though my husband has been here numerous times. Clean and comfortable environment! The staff is excellent! Heather was our waitress, and she did a phenomenal job. It was a busy Friday night, but our beers, appetizer, and main courses came out in a timely manner with less than a 15-minute wait! Affordable, tasty, and perfect-sized portions! We will be back.

Gadwall’s Grill in North Little Rock is a hidden gem. I’ve been to Gadwall’s a few times now, and every visit has been a great experience. It’s got that classic, down-home diner feel with friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. The food always hits the spot — whether it’s breakfast, a burger, or one of their daily specials, it’s fresh, hot, and full of flavor.
The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the staff really make you feel welcome. Even when it’s busy, they do a good job keeping things moving without making you feel rushed.
If you like laid-back local spots with consistently good food, Gadwall’s is definitely worth checking out.

We had a delicious meal, ordered patty melt and the nachos with shredded cheddar. We also enjoyed dessert as well. If you are looking for a local greasy spoon, you found it!
