Amazing Jamaican food for a reasonable price! The service was great, and overall we had an awesome experience.
I personally recommend the Jerk Chicken and the Goat Curry. The Jerk Chicken was definitely the best dish we ordered, we loved the strong flavor and the spiciness of the seasoning.
The Goat Curry was also great, although if it had been a little spicier, it might have been my contender for the best dish too!
One thing we noticed is that it gets a little crowded during the dinner rush, so coming a bit earlier might be a smart choice if you want to avoid the crowd.

We met another couple at Fya last night and we will for sure be back! Jeremiah greeted us, sat us right away and was our waiter. He’s friendly, attentive and informative. He was casual but professional. The vibe is relaxed and casual with images of Jamaica on the TV and great music playing.
We ordered the appetizer sampler that comes with cheese curds, onion rings, truffle fries and nachos for $15. All very good. We also ordered a couple jerk chicken skewers. $5 for one small skewer but it was so good – tender and flavorful. For drinks, we ordered the Jamaican Smile. They were fun to look at but none of us would order that again. $12 for a small glass of prosecco, Malibu and grenadine. It was super sweet and just not that enjoyable.
For entrees we tried a variety of things. Oxtail stew with seasoned rice and festival (like a sweet bread). Absolutely amazing. A little spice but so tender and flavorful. That rice is addicting! I also couldn’t stop eating the festival bread. Yum! Our friend tried the BBQ fried chicken. It looked so good and he didn’t leave anything but bones on his plate. I will try that next time. We tried the cactus taco. It was good but the taco fell apart immediately so it was more like a cacti taco salad. Could have used a sauce maybe. Chicken curry empanada was delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Fish taco was great too!
Sorry for the half eaten pics – we dug right in.
Check this place out on Monroe street. Owner, Xavier, is kind, the service is great and the food is excellent!

100/10 stars if I could! Fya Syde is an absolute gem in Madison- from the friendly hospitality, to the welcoming and lively atmosphere, to the delicious and amazing food, no corners are cut in this amazing restaurant. I got the jerk chicken and the side cabbage was definitely the best I’ve ever had- packed with flavor. My sister got the fish tacos and absolutely loved them as well, and we split the truffle fries which were excellent! The portions are nice and big as well. I can’t wait for the chance to go back!
Edited to add more shout outs: Xavier and Deja were working front of house and created an amazing and welcoming atmosphere, and chef Nikki is a true kitchen genius

I love coming to Fya Syde Kitchen. They always deliver when it comes to the food and the service is always excellent. This is by far the most authentic Jamaican cuisine I have had around the Madison area. It’s definitely worth the trip here!

We wanted to try this new Jamaican restaurant. The service was a little slow, but it was a little busy. We had the Jerk wings for appetizers; they were okay. I had the jerk chicken meal; it was good but lacking flavor. The staff was very welcoming.

The other night we met friends at the Fya Syde Kitchen for dinner. It was a great time with fantastic food. We started out with some appetizers; Cheese Curds, Truffle Fries, Onion Rings and Jerk Chicken Skewers. All over the top, great tasting, done just right. The Jerk Chicken Skewers were so good, one of us ended up ordering a couple for dinner. The fish tacos were great, as was the Tomato Bisque. I had the Reggae Salmon that the sweet tangy sauce added a lot to the Jerk Grilled Salmon. We all were impressed with the food, the drinks and service. We will be back.

My friend and I loved this new Jamaican restaurant! The service was personal and friendly. We loved the nice modern space and the jerk chicken was spiced right and moist. I also loved the steamed cabbage and carrot. My friend got the chicken wrap and she really liked it too. We opted to share the oxtail Birria tacos and this was fantastic! Highly recommend this place! Don’t run but walk here soon!

Loved it and looking forward to going back soon! Such a warm and welcoming place. Drink (Smile Jamaica) was delicious and festive, empanadas were light, crispy and seasoned beautifully, and the Jerk Chicken was tender, really flavorful without being over salted (really appreciated for us over-50 crowd).
