GAT DAMN thems some good eats.

We got the bao buns which come with pork belly, the Wagyu Kimchi Katana burger and a Thai iced tea.

When the buns came out i wished i had gotten the pork Banh Mi. But as soon as the katana burgers hit the table i knew i made the right choice.

I absolutely inhaled that burger. If you’ve never tried kimchi before this is a fun introduction.

The fries are killer too.

With 2 burgers, bao buns and the Thai tea it came to about 55 bucks.

Worth it.

We stopped here for dinner last night and everything was perfect! One of the best dining experiences I have ever had! There were four of us and we all tried something different. Started with the bao balls (do yourself a favor and order two of them for the table), my sons bith had the pineapple fried rice (one chicken and one with shrimp), my sons girlfriend had the Galbi and I had the glass noodle salad. Also ordered the Asian Pear sangria. The place has a great atmosphere and is very comfortable! The service was a 10 out of 10!

Wow, this place was really amazing! Saw that they were finally open for business and decided to have dinner there tonight. First impressions walking inside were that the decor and atmosphere were absolutely stunning! It’s very moody and dimly lit but also cozy and high end. The menu is very extensive with a lot of options to choose from depending on what type of food you want. They have the perfect blend of American food (burgers, nachos) meets Asian inspired flavors and ingredients. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. Food was very fresh and made with quality ingredients. I cannot wait to come back and try more from the menu!

What a pleasant surprise! Went here on a whim and so glad we did. First, there’s decent parking. When you go inside the atmosphere is wonderful, it’s absolutely lovely. It’s quite an “ Oh wow!” moment when you walk in and see the seating, which are bright red crushed velvet seats against a black backdrop. It’s beautiful and very comfortable seating. Two people in my party ordered drinks, a Peach Long Island iced tea, and the sangria. Both felt that the drinks were appropriately strong and they enjoyed them both. We moved on to the sampler platter that had fried cheese triangles, pretzel knots, egg rolls, and pork Spring rolls. The pork spring rolls were phenomenal. My only complaint is that they’re kind of tiny, but they were absolutely delicious. The sweet-and-sour sauce that came with it had a kick to it and was excellent as well, not like the typical the you would expect. Dinner was a bison burger, two people ordered the pork belly Banh Mi. That sandwich was HUGE! I tried a piece of the pork belly, it had that lovely char and was a mix of crispy and soft fat, it’s making my mouth water as I think about it! Lol. I have some dietary restrictions so I asked for the kamikaze fries, but modified and they were happy to oblige. What I ordered was just the Galbi meat on top of the fries topped with their Sriracha mayo. The meat was extremely tender, and the mayo also had a kick on the finish. The amount of fries you get is mind blowing, especially today when portion sizes are kind of getting smaller. They were massive. I did not get to taste the bison burger, but it was a very large sandwich as well and my cousin said he enjoyed it very much. They have a good selection of items for people who are gluten-free. I thought the pricing was pretty fair and our food came quickly. They do have a children’s menuI and are wheelchair accessible. I highly recommend you try this restaurant and I am looking forward to going back again!

It’s Date Night with my husband and we discovered this GEM of a place in SouthPointe. What a wonderful dining experience! The place is fairly new, small but spacious, and the ambiance is great. The food was super tasty, big portions, and reasonably priced. We started with the appetizer platter and my, everything was delicious! I ordered the 2.5lb pork belly crackling which was (duh) HUGE! The pork was moist, tender, crispy, and very well seasoned. My husband had the teriyaki beef bowl which was very good. Did I mention the portions were big? We also tried the Pomegranate Sake and yummm! Our server, Mary, was super friendly and caramelized the crème brûlée at our table. I wanted to try the Bao Bun pork but we were beyond stuffed at this point so we ordered it to go- judging by the smell emanating from the box, I can tell it would be equally delicious! This place is definitely topnotched and is now added to our favorites! We can’t wait to go back!

This place blew me away from start to finish! Bao buns were yummy, the pork belly was so good it made me want to try the pork banh mi next time. My husband and I both got the kimchi burger, they’re HUGE and the wagyu beef was juicy and perfectly cooked. Servers were friendly too. We will definitely be back to try more!

Went there for the Japanese food but to my surprise, the restaurant was divided in two and the other side was Mexican. You could order both types of cuisines from any side of the restaurant. I had the ramen soup as it was a generous quantity and the flavor was amazing. I definitely recommend it and will return.

When I heard of this place, I was very excited. I was even more excited when I perused their menu online. Having been to several of the countries that this restaurant claims to draw from, and tasting that cuisine in other cities in the U.S., I was really hoping for a great representation of them in this part of Pittsburgh. Let me get right to the punch line: While the restaurant space is nice, and the food presentation was beautifully done, that main reason for going – the food – was terrible.

We ordered the two Thai soups that we love – The Tom Yum and Tom Khai Soup. We also went for the Pineapple Fried Rice, and the famous Korean BBQ staple of Galbi. To try out one of the bar drinks, we went with the Sake-tini.

They really nailed the presentation. The two soups arrived in large bowls on wooden trays. However, they did not look right. When I tasted the Tom Yum soup, my suspicions were confirmed. This was probably the weakest Tom Yum soup I have ever tasted. Thai cuisine is noted for balancing five primary flavors: Salty, Sour, Sweet, Spicy, and Creamy. Each dish will emphasize one, but the other four will all be there and there will be a balance that make the dish nuanced. This soup showed sour and nothing else. There was no balance to it at all. As far as the vegetables that you typically find in it, we only saw sliced mushrooms. We did detect some lemongrass and saw something that may have been a Makrut Lime leaf, but it was hard to tell. As you can see from the picture, there were two thai peppers floating on top – but no spicy heat in the soup itself. And this was the BETTER of the two!

Tom Khai soup is a creamy soup based on Coconut milk. What we saw was not that at all. A taste confirmed what our eyes told us. This was the same Tom Yum with some coconut milk added to it. We pointed this out to our waitress as we thought the kitchen made a mistake and sent out the wrong soup. She admitted that she does not know the difference and took it back to the kitchen. She came back in a few minutes with the same bowl and told us that this is how they make their Tom Khai – it is the same soup… That is NOT right.

We left it behind and move on to the entrees. The Pineapple Fried Rice was gorgeously prepared in a hollowed-out half of a pineapple, again presented on that wooden tray. While it looked pretty, we were struck by how flavorless it was. They appeared to have only used soy sauce when cooking the slivers of chicken. The only other flavor was when we got a bit of pineapple in the mix. Since the menu showed that they served Sriracha, I called the waitress over and asked specifically for Sriracha, or another Asian (not Mexican) hot sauce. Look at the pictures, and you can see what she brought: A Japanese steakhouse version of a mayo sauce (yum yum?) and a chili crisp with sesame seeds on top.

However, the absolute worst dish of the evening was the Galbi. In Korea, Galbi is beef short ribs that are cut and marinated then grilled. The cut of the meat is very thin and it’s rolled around the bone so that it opens up like a fan. The marinade is sweet and spicy and highly seasoned. The meat is super tender and you eat it by picking it up with your fingers and eating it with no utensils. It is a common street vendor food and extremely delicious. There is an American variant of Galbi (Called LA Galbi) which is cut laterally across the bone. However, the marinade and the cooking is the same, so you can still pick it up with your fingers and have the super tender meat literally fall off the bone and into your mouth.

What we got was the LA Galbi variant in looks. However, the meat was very tough and gristly. It was not marinated for long enough and was not cooked properly. We left 80% of it on the plate. For accompaniment, it came with cubes of red and green pepper with an occasional piece of carrot and celery in it. This odd combination must have been cooked on a flat top with the only flavoring being the fat used to cook it. There was also a small mound of rice and a small bowl of kimchi on top of the rice.

Parts of meal very good- ramen, veggies, kimchi, rice. But the Korean short ribs were inedible- gristly, tough and poorly prepared Despite telling waitress to let the kitchen know, nothing was done to fix or offer an alternative protein. While the meal was eventually taken off the bill, why did no one from the kitchen staff address this? Seemed uninterested in diner experience which is not a “recipe” for us coming back.

Says it is an Asian American restaurant but 90% of the menu is Mexican and the Menu has a Mexican restaurant name on it. When we said something, they said 25% is asian but the Mexican restaurant next door was taking over. We made reservations and drove 30 minutes for false advertising. I also ordered the pineapple fried rice that came in a bowl instead of the pineapple it shows on website and Facebook.
