I came here on Valentine’s Day after having tried it as takeout and was really excited to experience it in person. A few things stood out right away.

First, the atmosphere is a bit odd. The photos explain it better, but it feels kind of tacky. Not a dealbreaker on its own, but definitely noticeable. There were also a lot of kids running around, which was unexpected.

As for the food, I was pretty disappointed. It’s not bad sushi, but the quality feels closer to what you’d get at an all-you-can-eat place. To be specific, the rice didn’t seem fully cooked or properly seasoned. The fish itself was actually quite good, but sushi is mostly about the rice, and that part really missed the mark for me.

Overall, I wouldn’t say it’s terrible, but it’s not a place I’ll be going back to or ordering from again. The quality also seems a bit erratic compared to when I first tried it, which makes it hard to rely on

Fushimi Williamsburg was an amazingly decadent time! The ambiance was top shelf. I felt like I was transported to Japan upon entering. The food was amazing my Fiancée had the chicken and shrimp tempura roll. I had 2 signature rolls: the Dragon roll and the Sex on the beach roll, both were amazing! Naomi our sever recommended the mini filet mignon appetizer, which was delicious as well. We felt very cared for and seen by Naomi. It was my birthday and I felt very special. We would definitely come back we are already making plans to come back!

The food was definitely pleasing to the taste. The service was top notch. The ambiance was nice and exotic to the eye (definitely for picture taking). But let’s get into detail. The parking is quite scarce, unless you go to pay for parking in the area (I was lucky to find it in front of the restaurant). They serve in portions. So either advantage to dine appetizer, main course, and then dessert. Or choose to dine with two main courses with drinks. I give this place a 4 star for food due to not having to enjoy the full menu, but a good start by taste alone. Intimacy for dining and ambiance is reflected to dark backgrounds with blue hue lighting. Especially with circular booths by the wall for either 2 or more to a party. Service is very attentive to enjoy the experience of the establishment. For this establishment, consistency is key and they hold it dearly. I’m looking forward to another visit on the future.

Let’s get this out of the way first. The sushi is very good quality and fresh. But this place is so much more than the food.

Fushimi was the 1990s restaurant experience I never knew I needed. What do I mean by that? Well, upon entering, I literally felt like I was transported back to the 90s. The interior design, the grandeur, the 90s dance hits playlist. Despite the retro feel, the place has been pristinely maintained.

It was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. A place I am excited about returning to either for dinner or for drinks and vibes.

My server was a guy named Steven, it was my 18th birthday so i came here to celebrate it. The food was as good as the photos looked and the customer service was amazing! A waiter named Steven is possibly one of the nicest people I’ve met by far and was our waiter for the night! 10/10 place would go again!

It’s a beautiful space with comfortable booths and romantic tables and subdued yet colorful lighting and beautiful corridors and clean spacious bathrooms. It lends itself well for a big youthful party grabbing a dinner after exploring Williamsburg.
It is NOT the place if you want to get quality Japanese-inspired food. I will give you two examples that will hopefully give you a clue –
– crab cakes are made using canned crab. In other words you can make this crab cake yourself by just buying a can of ‘Bumble Bee White Crab Meat’ at Stop and Shop for $3.99 and baking it.
– the rice in all sushi rolls is fridge-cold, making them hard, ruining the texture and dulling flavor.
No knowledgeable sushi chef would serve them that way

This was our third visit to Fushimi because WOW the food always impresses! The atmosphere is eclectic, most of the space is a sit down restaurant but the music, laser lights, and front bar section all suggest dance club. Ultimately you gloss over it because the food is incredible and the staff is always so friendly and attentive. The Chutoro Crispy Rice w/caviar appetizer was unique: the rich Chu toro flavor, jalapeño spice, the salty pop of the caviar, and the crunch of the crispy rice all came together so nicely. The Sex on the Beach roll had a creamy citrus lightness to it that complemented the crunchy shrimp tempura so wonderfully. The Chu Toro nigiri is the stuff of dreams: the meat is a tender cloud of delectable bliss. The Molten Cake w/red velvet ice cream is a decadent finish to all of it. Fushimi is a favorite of ours, we’ll continue to come back!

Highlights: All of it really — Chu Toro nigiri (an absolute must), Chutoro Crispy Rice w/caviar, Sex on the Beach roll, Surf & Turf roll, molten chocolate cake
