Unbelievably fast service, there were four chefs and two servers for a relatively small restaurant. Sashimi were the best, so fresh and scrumptious. Dragon roll was also very good, though little heavier on the sauce. Generous portions. Highly recommend

This was a perfect place for our last dîner in Honolulu. We wanted a great sushi place and we’re not disappointed!!!! The fish was extremely fresh, and perfectly seasoned with wasabi ( proposed option). The restaurant was nicely decorated, making it a cosy place in this busy area. We loved it.

My son and I were in the mood for sushi and wanted something walking distance from our hotel. After being in Japan for two weeks, the prices of course were much higher. But that should be expected on Waikiki Beach across the street from the Duke Statue. Both the rolls and the sushi were large and had great flavor. We had no trouble finishing the Bridge, but we were definitely satisfied. The sake was poured with generosity overflowing into a wooden box. We both left with smiles on our faces.

Looking for great sushi at a reasonable price in bustling Waikiki? Furusato is the place you’re seeking. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the traditional sushi (nigiri). Rice was perfectly portioned and seasoned which made the fish taste amazingly fresh and mouthfeel satisfying. If you get the right table, you overlook beach vibes on busy Kalakaua Ave. The service was attentive, my green tea was refilled with good timing. The atmosphere was chill, and quaint, not for large parties though. Great food!

Furusato’s menu is intentionally limited and wonderfully clear—an elegant canvas curated by a master chef who trusts the finest ingredients to speak in their own voices. There’s no need for flashy sauces or fussy embellishments here; the fish is the message, and it arrives with a quiet confidence.

We began with a small bowl of udon in a crystalline broth, a gentle awakening of the senses. Then came the Omega and the Diamond Head Roll—the best rolls I’ve ever had—where pristine flavors bloom instead of being smothered. The Waikiki Bridge followed, a beautifully presented potpourri of the freshest fish, each cut surgically precise, each piece minimalistic, simple, and perfect. It’s the kind of craftsmanship that makes you slow down and savor.

Service was exactly what you hope for—warmly welcoming without hovering, with impeccable timing that let the evening unfold naturally. The space mirrors the culinary philosophy: minimalistic and modern with a traditional heartbeat, a serene setting that sharpens your focus on the ocean’s gifts laid before you.

This is not a bargain spot, and rightly so—every penny feels like an investment in care, quality, and mastery. In a word: sheer seafood perfection.

A small, comfortable, cute place with sushi-chefs making food live in front of you. Really good quality food and the sake flight was a good way to try different sake. Definitely a must try if you are in Waikiki. But the place is small and not a lot of
seating arrangement.

May be the best sushi I ever had. It was so fresh and the service was fantastic!!

Update: it was amazing the first time. We went back today and it wasn’t nearly as fresh. The tuna was much darker, softer, and had a fishy taste. Really disappointing.

I had sushi at this place and it was absolutely divine. The freshness of the fish, the perfect balance of flavors, and the welcoming atmosphere made it an unforgettable experience. Truly heavenly!

Went here because it seemed they have some vegetarian options too. Make sure to aso before you order because some items still came topped with roe or salmon. The avocado roll was tasty. Pricey, but wouldn’t expect otherwise in this area.

I visited this restaurant on 11/6/25 with my mother and ordered a sushi combination.
From the moment we arrived, we noticed that there were quite a lot of small flying insects around our table, which was already concerning.

During the meal, I discovered a small white worm-like insect inside one of the cucumber rolls. I had already eaten most of the meal before noticing it.
When I informed the server, she told me that they could remake only the rolls. I asked where the worm had come from. She told me that it came from the cucumber and said she had checked the other cucumbers and found no issues. I trusted her explanation, accepted the replacement rolls, and paid the full amount including tip, because I did not want to create a scene while I was with my mother.

However, I later learned that her explanation was not accurate. I do not cook myself, so I didn’t know, but my mother told me that this type of worm does not come from cucumbers and is instead commonly associated with fish.
If that is the case, the situation becomes much more serious, and I do not believe the server handled it appropriately. I also feel that I ended up paying for something that was not safe to eat, and the response I received did not properly address the contamination issue.

My intention in reaching out is to ensure that proper food safety measures are followed so that this does not happen to another customer. I hope the restaurant can take this matter seriously and review its handling procedures.
