Need some signage inside for out of town people to know where things are and how the order process flows. The potato salad was a little expensive as a side for the portion you receive. I ordered the chicken bacon wrap and received it promptly. The chicken was blah not the best tasting or textured meat I have eaten. The seating was good and there is a fair amount of seating. I’ll have to check out another option on the menu the next visit and update my post then.

Delicious as always! Had a rare kid-free afternoon so grabbed my favorite, the sweet and savory, and headed over to West Hill Brewery to enjoy a beer with it. I had 2 different people ask me where my sandwich was from because it looked so good!

The deli was recommended to me as a great place to get a sandwich, and as an infrequent visitor to Indianola, I had no experience so decided to try it. I noticed immediately that the turkey was real meat, not processed. You seldom see that anymore, so I got a turkey sandwich. The meat was delicious and the bread was really good. I was very impressed.
The atmosphere was cordial and friendly and relaxed. I was thanked at time of sale and also upon departure. I would definitely come back!!

This is one of the best kept secrets of Warren County! If you’ve never been to Funaro’s you’re missing out. The friendly staff will treat you like family! The meatballs, the cookies! This is my favorite place for lunch! Best meatball sandwich in all of Iowa!

Stopped in after reading such stellar reviews. I wasn’t disappointed at all! Asked wait staff for a recommendation and went with it. The Muffaletta sandwich, February’s special, served hot per wait staff, was the right choice. Great sandwich good meat, fresh bread, balanced flavors, and just plain delicious!!! Throw in courteous staff, and I will come back next time I’m in town.

Sub par sandwiches. Inconsistent quality. They are always running out of breads (croissants). Service/staff are unprofessional and forgetful. The environment is cold, and sterile. Just painting and better blinds would help. And please, step into the 21st century and get new overhead lighting. When I go in, which is rare now, I am delighted when we leave. Try some booths as well. I would love to support local businesses, but only those that make an effort to get my business. The sandwiches…boring deli meat, slapped on day old bread is something dissatisfying. I’m sure all of those on the square , eat for lunch because it’s close! Their cookies are good, but that about it. The side options are from 1950. A cup of fruit? Pasta salad? They only reason they are open is from the business owners on the square. Even a chain like Panera has amazing soups and sandwiches. Being a family business get together and create a new menu! Please! When I have friends come from Des Moines, I wouldn’t dare take them to Funaro’s. Most of the town wants to see you succeed, but do you care enough to please the people. (You haven’t mine)

This is hands down without a doubt my most favorite deli ever. It’s small town and the people that work there are friendly. I’m a customer and I deliver for them through doordash and it’s a pleasure no matter what. I think I’ve tried at least four or five sandwiches on the menu and they’re all good. My favorite is somewhere between the meatball and the Reuben.

We love Funaro’s Deli, great sandwiches and a good variety; the Triple Pork is one of my favorites. They have everything you need for lunch, chips, sodas, salads, and awesome homemade cookies. Menu is on line and you can call ahead and it will be ready when you get there.

We stumbled across this gem during a work trip to Indianola. Every thing was excellent in flavor, quick to get brought out and very reasonable price. The bread bowl was outrageously good with cream of broccoli soup overflowing. The chili was the perfect side dish for my lunch. The cookies…oh the cookies are so delicious. The entire crew makes you feel like they see you every day. Thank you Funaro’s team for a wonderful break in the day for lunch…3 days in a row!

Not only are the sandwiches amazing but their danishes in the morning are the best I have ever had! Baked fresh and better than any bakery plus it is a family run local business. One of my favorite places!
