The Cherry Blossom roll was super fresh — it had this perfect combo of tuna, salmon, and avocado with just the right amount of rice. The fish was buttery and smooth, and the whole thing was topped with this light drizzle of sauce that gave it a nice kick without overpowering the flavor. Really clean and balanced.
Now the pork teriyaki rice? So good. The pork was tender, juicy, and had that caramelized edge from the teriyaki glaze. It came on a bed of fluffy white rice that soaked up all the sauce — every bite was flavorful.
The vibe in the place was chill too — not too loud, staff was super friendly, and everything came out pretty quick. Definitely a spot I’d go back to.
I ordered the fried chicken curry hot plate and it was so delicious. The spice level is very mild. I ordered medium spicy and it wasn’t very spicy at all. The curry tasted so rich and delicious.
The agedashi tofu and seaweed salad were also very fresh and everything was perfectly seasoned.
On a separate visit, the Curry Ramen was mostly on point: rich broth, chewy noodles, portion size. But as ramen’s simplicity often requires nothing short of perfection, a few minor flaws can seem bigger than what they are. Cold vegetable add-ons should have been dipped in boiling water prior to garnishing, pork katsu should have been served on bone dry plate to ensure crispiness of bottom layer.
Nevertheless, despite these minor shortfalls, this cozy outpost is worth considering a neighborhood go-to, at the foot of Bernal.
Didn’t have to wait long on a Friday night, quick in and out.
