Eat like a local while travelling! The small town diner is located just off Cedar Rapids, IA. Broasted chicken was awesome! They serve delicious food, service is excellent and great small town feel. Very good drinks too.

Really wanted to like this place, it has a good downtown small town location near the schools. The smell of grease when you walk in is strong and of course you and your clothes smell of it until washed. Their thing is broasted (pressure fried) chicken which leads to pretty much broasted everything else. There is not a burger, grilled item or lettuce salad on the menu. A large group of us stopped in a month ago, when my sister was in town. It had been years since I’ve eaten there and I’m glad we did. The broasted chicken, waffle fries, frickles, and everything else, were amazing! The waitress/bartender was very friendly and gave great customer service. Fun, small town experience. I’ll definitely be back for more!

The best broasted chicken. I can see the ladies in the kitchen from where I was sitting and they checked every piece of chicken to make sure it was done. My order got mixed up with another customer but they made it right in more ways than one. Very appreciative.

We waited over hour and a half for our meal. There were people who came in after us that got their appetizers and meals before us. But there were other people who had to take their food to go because the wait had been so long. No notice or apology by staff. When we asked at the 1 hour mark she asked us if we wanted to cancel our order. Then we were told it would only be 15 more minutes. It was half an hour later before our food arrived. When food did arrive there were gnats.

Good local place for a cold drink and hot bite. Broasted chicken, potato wedges, tenderloins, maid rites are all great… check FB for menu and daily deals. They don’t take cards, bring cash. No cell service in the building for some reason, could be considered good or bad!
