Every time I come here, it feels like a trip back to Tokyo. The skewers are light and crispy, with a simple yet satisfying flavor. The staff are friendly, and the place has a very comfortable atmosphere.

I don’t work to make a living, I work so that I can eat at Fujiyama Texas EVERY NIGHT! I work a job where I don’t get out till 1am and all I look forward to is getting a surf and turf from here. Everyone that works there is super sweet, especially Karen. The restaurant is set up beautifully and the atmosphere is just what you need after a days of work, or just to go out with friends. It’s the perfect place to get those late night cravings for an amazing meal.
Lord bless this restaurant for being open so late every night, Batman has nothing on them. If you ever need a warm place to eat with excellent service and staff, this is the place to go!

A friend and I needed to kill some time before heading to watch the University of Hawaii men’s basketball game so decided to stop here. And boy are we glad we did. This place was busy when we got there but they were still able to squeeze us in at the counter which I highly recommend.
We watched the fry chef prepare all the delicious kushikatsu that were ordered and fry them to perfection. We enjoyed an assortment ourselves over a nice cold Asahi draft beer. Definitely get the fried chicken wing, Tamago egg, pork, beef, salmon and hasu.
The food was fantastic and service was great. Loved the ambiance as well. We’ll definitely be back here again soon.

I was excited to try this place because it’s rare to find a shop that serves kushikatsu, and the food is definitely delicious!
However, I was not impressed by the service, which looking at prior reviews, is a known issue. Our waitress was cold, and when we stepped in, she stiffly went through a list of restrictions (no reservation? seating time is limited to xx, we are out of xx), and it was like… okay hello to you too? It was also not busy at all, but we were seated in a dark corner away from the bar, TV, or windows which did not help us feel more welcome.
It’s not like I’m expecting to be praised for eating there, but it’s a sharp contrast from all the other restaurants in the area — even the fast food chains — who have much friendlier staff.

Great experience! The breakfast and unlimited green tea was just what we needed. Service was quick and kind. Very relaxing morning atmosphere.

Our first choice of Tori Ton was booked up solid for a Friday night, so my friends and I decided on Fujiyama Texas Izakaya after calling and confirming they had a table for six available. As we entered we were immediately greeted and seated. After placing our order for Izakaya, Japanese comfort foods, and drinks that’s when our service went downhill. One of my friends ordered a Lilikoi Lychee Chuhai, but requested only Lilikoi. The waitress agreed it was possible, however instead served her the Lilikoi Lychee without alcohol. Basically a drink my friend did not not order, so after a sip she waved the waitress down and the waitress insisted my friend was wrong even though we all heard the order. The cringe part is when the waitress became confrontational and gave attitude the entire night. Realize our table ordered lots of food & drink. Overall the skewers, dishes, curries were delish. The Japanese beer… well it’s always good. The vibe was good except for that one sour waitress. We still tipped as normal, but most of us agreed on never returning (we’ll spend elsewhere).

Service was not the best tonight. We ordered our food via the order sheet provided. The food started coming out. The only thing I ordered was the Yuzu Ramen. When most of the food came out, we told the staff we were still waiting for the ramen. The waitress came back and told us it was going to take 40 minutes?? For ramen?? Then she asked if we wanted to cancel the order, so I said yes. That was the only thing I wanted to eat and they couldn’t even provide it in a timely manner. What a disappointment. At least the rest of my family got to eat.

A great spot to eat at. Been multiple times. Gets busy on pau hana Fridays. Most recent time we went was on a Sunday at opening. Not too busy, people started showing up more around 6:00-6:15. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious as always. Great place to drink and talk story with family or friends. Can accommodate larger parties but definitely make a reservation if so.

I really want to love this place. Food was very good, but service was lacking. After placing the order for a group of three, wait service to our table was minimal. One order item wasn’t brought to the table after over 45 minutes of waiting. After flagging down a server, which was difficult, their response was snide. The dish was delivered almost immediately afterwards, which our entire party determined never would have been served had we not flagged down a server.
Outside the one poor experience with one server at the end of our visit and the frustratingly late dish, all other aspects were good. However, the rest of my party were adamant that they wouldn’t return for the issue we encountered and were skeptical when I said I would likely give them another chance. I sincerely hope this establishment improves in timeliness and service because its all I believe is missing from this restaurant being truly top class.

We came after a friend’s recommendation. Since it was last minute on our part, we did not make a reservation. We only waited a few minutes to get seated for three. We arrived just before 8 and it looked like all seats were taken and the bar was almost full. After being seated, the tables cleared out a bit more, and we looked over the menu. We added our orders to the sheet on the table, but it took at least 15 minutes for us to get the server’s attention to take our order sheet. When he did, it seemed he wanted to take it as quickly as possible as we couldn’t get our full drink order in. We ordered the Takoyaki, Yakisoba, 10 Piece Platter, Ahi with Avocado, and Donburi. The woman who served us our food was kind enough to share with us what was on the platter, and offered to top the Takoyaki with kewpie mayo. However, the other person serving our table did not ask if we needed anything in the time we were there. We waited at least 20 minutes to get our check (which we had to walk up to the register and ask for ourselves). It is also worth noting that this same server had been talking with his friends (who he was serving next to us) and making plans to meet, and showing them extra care throughout their meal. This server/lack of service is the main reason for my 3 star review.
Aside from the service, the food was great. The yakisoba, takoyaki, and the platter were really good. I really liked the Kushi-Katsu (the mochi and prime rib especially)! We also had Dry Asahi on draft to go with our meal and it was served in a cooled mug which is always great.
