We were pleasantly surprised by the quality, ambience, and price of the place. There’s nice lighting, no smells, the food tastes amazing, and the prices are not outrages. We were able to fill up with just $35 per person and it’s because we got a semi-expensive platter of sushi. The service was very friendly too. We loved it, I recommend coming here!

Hole in the wall… very cute once inside. Excellent service. The place is tiny tho so expect to wait at peak times. The dragon roll was AMAZING… cant wait to try other similar rolls if the quality is consistent. Their $30 sushi tho (I forgot the name of it) was subpar and soo not worth it the bill at all. They put a very bad sauce on their shishito peppers too – ruining what should be such a simple and delicious appetizer. The gyoza are meh – yuzu sauce is not bad…. I will be back just cuz of how exceptional their dragon roll tasted.

What a great surprise. I mean who expects a very good Japanese restaurant in El Centro of all places. We had a great meal. The beef and fish tempura bowl as well as a couple of sushi rolls were all very good. I was also very happy to see both Asahi and Sapporo beers on tap. All and all we enjoyed our visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Fujisan is the shining star of Japanese cuisine in the Imperial Valley, really the best sushi El Centro had to offer. This unassuming abode from the outside may not attract the eye, but the inside is quite updated to a modern, intimate, and clean dining space. From the friendly staff you are greet with first thing when you step inside this humble abode, to their extensive menu of tempura meal combos, udon, and sushi. The owner, Wesley, and his staff are extremely hard at work to give you a relaxed dining experience. I personally like trying their salmon maki rolls and bluefin tuna belly nigiri. However, the cuts of fish and fat content may not be the same with each visit. Still worthy of checking out.

This is my favorite restaurant in the entire Valley. The food is exquisite, authentic, and fresh. I have a big fear of getting food poisoning, especially from seafood — I won’t eat seafood or raw fish anywhere else in the Valley because no establishment comes close to the level of quality Fujisan consistently delivers. The owner, Wesley, is always kind and welcoming. I love their seasonal desserts and sake selection. My spouse and I love it here and hope for many more years of Fujisan!

Best restaurant in el centro! Can’t get any better Japanese food near. Quality of the sushi and food was legit and authentic. Amazing and pleasing bar! High quality and lots of Japanese sake choices (felt i like I was actually in Japan !) If you are just driving by or local and craving some Japanese food this is your place, you won’t regret it! Service is also so friendly and genuine. They also take their own time to explain where everything is sourced and how to eat authentically! Chef had mad skills! ! He knows what he’s doing, so talented !!They also make homemade desserts (so good)! Definitely recommend the coffee ice cream and the red wine ice cream was strong (careful if you’re driving lol). If you have a big party tho place an order in advance!

Don’t order the spicy bowl. Had the consistency of baby food and no flavor. I wouldn’t be riding this review except for after taking two bites and sending it back. They did not even refund the item. So I paid $33 for a miso soup. That is just plain poor customer service. Also the annoying music will not have you dancing in your seat. Highly recommend to avoid this place

Have been multiple times and have never been disappointed with the quality and taste. This is the only place in all of the Imperial Valley that does sushi correctly and authentically. The prices are more than fair given the freshness of the ingredients and thought put into the dishes. My top pick has been the bluefin box sushi.

Went with three of my friends yesterday, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was great and all is Japanese owned and imported. The fish tasted amazingly, and the food couldn’t get any more authentic. I don’t normally leave reviews of restaurants, but I really felt like going the extra mile. Excellent service and wonderful staff, would definitely go again.

Ordered the Pork Katsu and it was delicioooous.
The cutlet was beautifully seasoned and perfectly crispy, the rice was PERFECTION and the curry had a little kick and soooo flavorful.
The ambiance is relaxing and welcoming. ♥️
