Great atmosphere! The menu had something for me as a vegan and my seafood loving friends. The service was ok until we ordered main courses. Then the service was exceptional. The restaurant is a bit hard to find because of the Google maps gps location was incorrect and the restaurant door entrance is black and different to see at night.

We had a nice experience here! The sushi was delicious and good presented, the drinks were tasty, and the dessert was a fun touch for a cute little birthday. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, and overall it felt like a great value for the quality. Solid 4/5 would definitely come back! Still like the seaport location better!

I don’t mean to be harsh, but dish I had was just quite bad; it was their rendition of a Sichuan dry-fried beef and green bean dish. I think every element of it was poor: it was not dry-fried in the slightest, i.e. there was no “scorch” on the beans at all. It seems it was basically sauteed? It was served wet in some extremely bland sauce. I understand a place that is ostensibly serving Japanese cuisine might not have the best mala flavor in such a dish, but it literally tasted unsalted. The beef in the dish was horrible as well; it tasted slightly off to be honest, and essentially every piece of it had visible silver skin. There was also bell pepper in it for some reason?
The dish also came with rice which tasted like it had been sitting for hours. I imagine this is likely because it was; we had lunch at around 3:00PM and the place was empty. It just was not good food, at a worse price ($28 for just a stir fry). I imagine their sushi/Japanese fair is better, but why have something on the menu if you aren’t willing to make it with a superficial level of competence?
We also got some vegetable tempura; it was OK. The batter was a bit stodgy and not “light” at all. I wouldn’t just say there is better tempura, but rather that you’d be hard-pressed to find worse tempura in the area. That’s not too much of a complaint in my mind, as even bad tempura is generally serviceable.
No issue really with the service, and the atmosphere inside is really quite nice. However, if you just enjoy views and have no need to eat, I might recommend a national park instead.

Since we live around the corner, Fuji at Assembly has become our family’s cherished dining spot, where elegant Japanese cuisine meets warm hospitality. They’ve thought of everything parents need: high chairs, changing tables, and coloring sheets that keep little ones busy. While they prefer strollers in the lobby, they’ve been accommodating when space permits.
Through countless visits, we’ve consistently enjoyed both the polite service and delicious food. While I personally skip the seafood, my family raves about their artfully presented sushi and sashimi – their boat presentation is perfect for groups. The grilled ribeye with black pepper sauce is absolutely divine, and the beef and broccoli, vegetable dumpling soup, and vegetable fried rice never disappoint.
Parents can enjoy sangria or cocktails while kids have juice. Don’t miss their unique tempura cheesecake for dessert – it’s perfect with traditional tea.

Love the food. The gyoza’s are a must try. My husband also recommends the Spicy Sichuan Fried Rice. Also, good place to try vegetarian sushi. The food was fresh & well presented. The interior was decent and the restaurant was decently sized. The service was at par and would definitely visit again. Good to find a nice restaurant at Assembly Row.
