Wow! I’m impressed. Sarah was the sweetest bartender. We enjoyed happy hour specials and the mussels were the best I’ve ever had. The Christmas decor was perfection.

Update 8/9: sat on the patio. We had good service. The Brussels app was again delicious. The smash burger was great, but reminded me I should have upgraded to fries because the chips it comes with are gross. Husband liked the fuel burger and friend loved his short ribs entree.

Previous review: Have been 3 times in the last few months. First time the chicken burrito bowl was amazing.

Second time had the Cajun corn chowder which was very good, but the chicken burrito bowl was different and a little cold.

Tonight had the classic smash burger + bacon and it was delish. Also the Brussels and mussels apps were good too. Guys enjoyed their fuel burgers. Service was good.

I have been here multiple times. The food and service were great. The Fuel burger was good along with the muscles and brussels as apps. Atmosphere is good, but lost a star due to how loud it is. They have added some sound deadening pads in the ceiling since the opened, but could use some more being all cement and brick.

Had a fantastic espresso martini- you could tell it was a homemade mix. Food was delicious as well. We had the mussels as an appetizer and they were so good. Very fresh and tasted great. Great atmosphere and drink choices. My family will be back!

Average restaurant/bar in Spring Lake. Atmosphere is fairly small/generic, service was ok (rushed us a lot and then never checked on us again after bill was paid-didn’t even keep water filled), and the food was good (nothing exceptional). Party tried the steak and frites and the blackened whitefish. Steak was cooked to order with good fries. The whitefish was not what we would consider “blackened” (lacked flavor/spice) but was accompanied by a well-cooked cilantro-lime rice and asparagus. Portion sizes were nice (although slightly overpriced). Overall, it is a decent option if in the Spring Lake area but nothing would truly make us want to go back.

TLDR: Decent food, awesome cocktails, nice beer, great indoor atmosphere and decent outdoor atmosphere.

If you follow me, you know I take months to do a review- we ate here in May- hence our jackets – so don’t mind those, and please be aware that if anything is seasonal, what I’m reviewing may not be available currently.

We started out with drinks: I ordered the flower berry spritz (valentine white blossom vodka, raspberry purée, bubbly, sparkling water, lemon twist), which I quite enjoyed! He ordered a margarita (corazon tequila, triple sec, house sour – spicy upon request) which he also enjoyed. Also ordered were a Hamm’s on tap and a chipotle peach margarita (chipotle infused blanco tequila, peach schnapps, house sour, tajin). Everyone seemed happy with their drinks.

For an appetizer, we ordered the shrimp ceviche (shrimp, lime, mango, habañero, red onion, red pepper, cilantro served with tortilla chips) which was kinda just ok. We ate it, but I didn’t scarf it down like I would normally do to a ceviche.

For entrees, we ordered the chicken burrito bowl (|vg, v, gr upon request| al pastor chicken, cilantro lime rice, corn + black bean salsa, tomato, jalapeño, pickled onion, pineapple, chipotle crema) and the spicy pesto pasta (/vg upon request| with asparagus, ricotta, pasta w pancetta – I got it without pancetta). We both really enjoyed our meals. The pasta was super good and SPICY, which is not actually what I expected. Yes, it says spicy but we’re in west Michigan, so I rarely believe a description, but this one is ok to be believed!

Also ordered were the hawaiian pizza (|vg|
red sauce, ham, pineapple, red onion, jalapeño) which was said to be “ok” and the fish + chips (house breaded haddock, fries, slaw, house tartar, lemon) which was said to be really good!

We finished off with a painkiller for dessert (a classic summer tiki topped with nutmeg). This is one instance of a drink that I think is better when I make it at home, but it is what it is .

We ate outside, because that’s what we do when it’s even remotely nice out, but I think that because of the proximity to the road, eating inside is actually nicer at this particular restaurant. It’s got a beautiful aesthetic, so we’ll probably visit again in the fall or winter.

Overall, the service is pretty nice here, which is good, as you don’t really get that everywhere anymore.

I’d say the drinks are better than the food here, on the few occasions I’ve visited, but it’s not to say the food is BAD, it’s not- and it’s a refreshing change from other Spring Lake and Grand Haven restaurants.

One of the best spots in the neighborhood.

Great drinks and a cozy atmosphere for date night. We went with a pizza and Brussel Sprouts. I realized after we ordered I picked two things with charred and balsamic flavors but both plates were good all around. The pizza has a nice crispy thin crust, and my wife was a big fan of their ranch dressing. The Ginger Beer was good too!

We were in and out pretty quickly which worked with our weeknight schedule! Give this place a try for good eats with reasonable pricing in the Spring Lake downtown area.

Husband and I come here for the wood fire pizza and the wings. We always say we’re trying something different but we never do. Don’t get me wrong we have tried other things on the menu but these are our go to without fail. Staff is always awesome, sitting at the bar is pretty cool
too.

Typically the food is par. It’s expensive for what you get, but it open late and the gf pizza crust is edible. However, tonight we had to swat bugs the entire meal. When we asked the bartender if he was aware of the situation, he simply responded ‘yeah’ with zero explanation or apology. When mentioning the bug in the drink, he laughed. Though he did ask if I’d like it remade. I’ll only be returning if there are no other options. Picking bugs out of my food was very off putting. If you’d like a $12 spritz with a bug inside, go to fuel.

We brought a business colleague here for lunch after having eaten here several times. Food was consistent throughout those visits, but this time there was a hair baked into the pizza. The waitress did not handle it well and was quite rude about it. She could not comprehend how the hair could have come from someone on their staff, and she made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. Review is based on all of our experiences, but we are taking our time before we return.
