Reviews
The food was very good overall, and we appreciated the complimentary chips and salsa to start. We ordered several dishes to share. The queso was ok, not memorable. The grilled octopus had a nice char flavor; the heirloom tomatoes and potatoes were excellent, especially the purple potatoes. The Mexican garlic noodles with grilled chicken was very creamy/wet and not dry at all. The carne asada tacos were flavorful—although I forgot to request no cheese, the avocado and pickled elements were very fresh and complemented the dish well.
Service:
Dylan was our waiter and checked on us multiple times throughout the meal. While he was less present toward the end, we are still giving him five stars for service. The blonde food runner was also polite and he delivered our dishes with a smile
Atmosphere:
We are giving four stars for atmosphere due to the rather loud music. We were seated in the back section of the restaurant with tables and booths. A lower music volume would have made the dining experience more enjoyable.
It’s small and intimate, with sidewalk seating that gives it a relaxed, modern vibe. Don’t let the size fool you—the food brings serious flavor. The menu is tight but well thought out, and everything feels intentional rather than overdone. You can tell they care about quality and execution.
The drinks are a standout. Well-crafted cocktails, especially if you like tequila, and everything comes out balanced and fresh—not sugary or rushed. It’s an easy place to linger, talk, and enjoy the atmosphere without feeling crowded.
Overall, it’s a solid choice for a casual night out, date night, or meeting friends for drinks and good food. Unique, flavorful, and laid-back—Fuego punches above its weight.
They bring a fresh, modern take on Latin cuisine that really shows in both the ingredients and the plating.
The beef empanadas were a great start, crisp on the outside with a well-seasoned filling and balanced by bright toppings.
The octopus was another highlight, tender with a good char, paired with smashed potatoes, peppers, cherry tomatoes, and pepita seeds.
And you truly can’t leave without getting the churro board!!
The churros are crisp on the outside, soft in the center, and the four dipping sides make it fun to share.
Now on to the food! We started with guacamole that is served creatively with plantain chips. Abigail recommended the garlic noodles with Dungeness crab. This dish is beyond words delicious and a very generous portion! Highly recommend this dish- the flavor is incredible! My boyfriend got the Sea Bass entree which was also 10 stars- delicate, tender, and expertly prepared.
It’s super rare that a restaurant nails every aspect of a dining experience but this one certainly did. I hope they don’t change a thing because what they have is a superstar!! Lakewood Ranch is so lucky to have a place like this!! I can only hope they come to Nashville next!!
