Other reviews mentioning there’s just one guy running the whole operation here- and I can confirm, that’s an important detail to understand before visiting Fu Kee Express.
I called in my order on a Saturday night. The first call went unanswered, but my second attempt a few minutes later got through. The owner took my order and even agreed to make my General Tso’s Chicken “SUPER” spicy. He told me it’d be ready in 20 minutes.
When I arrived, I wasn’t totally sure how things worked. The front door opens into a small waiting area (with a sign asking you not to wait inside), and the rest of the restaurant is blocked off with tables. There’s no counter or staff – I was just literally standing there wondering why this is the configuration in a relatively large casual restaurant space. I watched the owner scurrying around in the kitchen for a few minutes before stepping outside to finish the wait. After a bit, he brought orders to the front, about 30 minutes total from when I’d called, then taking orders from other customers patiently waiting.
The food was excellent. The chicken was crisp and flavorful, and the meat itself tasted like good quality- not stringy or chewy at all. The “SUPER” spice level was pretty bold, enjoyable but not extremely spicy.
Overall, Fu Kee Express is a one-man show with great food that’s worth the wait. I’ll come again, just not on a Saturday night or when I’m in a hurry.

I must say, “HANDS DOWN” coming from UP NORTH to NC the Chinese food is HORRIBLE HERE! This establishment is TAKE OUT ONLY! The owner has one hell of a sense of humor. He’s so funny. Be patient, patience is a virtue! He is by his lonesome! If you call and he doesn’t answer chances are he’s cheffing it up, getting orders together, processing payments and or possibly just not answering. I asked him for “Fried Chicken Wings” he jokingly said, “NO CHICKEN WINGS HERE GO TO BON CHON”! I ordered the Broccoli and Garlic sauce with White Rice or with Fried Rice it’s “CHEFS KISS”. He advised my order will be ready in 15 minutes and it was. When my order was ready, he said, “My Broccoli and Garlic Sauce is the “BEST”! He went viral and didn’t want to, he rather not be busy! This place is 10 out of 10 I highly recommend!

Food was delicious but pricey. I ordered a house special lo mein and it was about $18. The order took over 30 mins on a Saturday for just lo mein. The owner is nice and personable but he is the only one working there so he’s answering phones and cooking. There is no other worker. You do have to preorder before you come. This is take out only. I would come again but only when I know I have a lot of time to wait for my food.

I have not ate chinese in a while because all the restaurants i’ve tried can never get it right, it’s either super chewy or overcooked but I saw this place on TikTok and saw all the good reviews so gave it a try. I have been under a rock!!! This is probably some of the best Sesame Chicken i’ve had in a longggg time. Yeah there is a little wait if you don’t call ahead but it was 100% worth it. I will definitely be back! Owner is super funny and speedy too! 100/100

I love this place! No online ordering or delivery service, no sit down inside. Over the phone orders only, like the old days. Because of that, it feels like a lucky day when I call and the owner picks up my call.
As you read from others, it’s only him. No other staff. So that’s a win before I even get my food.
Then, he always gives me a hard time (which makes me laugh) when I ask for the spiciest General Tso’s Chicken he makes saying not to complain about the spice. I love hot food, and it’s just right for me. If it’s too hot for you, and you asked for it? Well that’s on you, not him. Couldn’t agree more.
Prices are right on par with others, but the food is just… better!

Fu Kee express is the best Chinese food in Raleigh. If you’re looking for good traditional Chinese, this is your spot. My husband always orders the combo fried rice and he’s always amazed at how delicious it is. It’s consistent. The ingredients he uses are top notch and he loads up the cartons so it’s worth what you pay for the food! Highly recommend

We got dinner last night here for the first time. Wanted good Chinese food & after reading the reviews we had to try it. General Tso’s Chicken, Mild, White Rice, No Broccoli was the best I’ve ever had. No stringy pieces of chicken. Delicious sauce. Sweet & Sour Chicken with Fried Rice was delicious. Chicken was not overly breaded & the sauce was delicious. Crab Meat Rangoons were delicious & huge (it came with 6 but I only took a picture of 3). Lots of creamy filling. It is a one man show like the other reviews say & totally worth it. We did spend $50 with tip.

I am giving this establishment 3 stars on service as well as atmosphere because when the food was ready, to be picked up, my daughter said the person preparing the food was using profanity as he was approaching her with her order regarding chicken wings which she had not ordered , so she wondered why was he using profanity coming toward her saying _ _ _ king chicken wings. We have ordered here several times before and my husband has picked up our orders before and he has heard the same preparer use profanity before. We feel that he is probably over worked because he is the only person you see in the restaurant. The food has been good but my husband and daughter have had enough of the profanity just about each time they have gone to pick up their order. We decided that we will find some other similar business that has more than one person working so maybe they will not be overworked using unneeded profanity.

This is not your regular strip mall chinese food. It is the typical menu items but it’s such good quality ingredients and amazing flavor. It is a little more expensive than other places but it’s so good it’s worth every penny, and for the quality it’s a bargain. There is only one man who makes everything, and he is the nicest guy ever. I don’t know how he does it. This is my go-to restaurant for incredibly amazing Chinese food.
