This wonderful restaurant has become our family and friends stop for treats such as shakes, ice cream and baked goods as well as a fantastic spot for a weekly dinner outing! The menu has excellent items from fried juicy chicken with a crunch (I like the spicy chicken myself) brisket, sandwiches, fries and even pizza. Our son loves the mac and cheese, and we are slowly trying each item on the menu. As for the sweets the favorites in our family have been soft serve with sprinkles, hot fudge sundae, and the Oreo milkshake! So far each and every item has been a winner! The customer service is top notch and the food is made fast and hot! We usually take our treats and meals to go, but the outdoor seating looks inviting and spacious. We highly recommend this spot as we will be coming back over and over!

Everything about this place is ALWAYS awesome. I stop by semi-regularly for a slice of pizza which has been good 100% of the time. Their sandwiches are fantastic and the BBQ is smoked perfectly. Today I had a Cuban sandwich here for the first time. I’ve had plenty of Cuban sandwiches in the past. This was the best I’ve had by far. Fried chicken is perfection. Hidden gem for sure.

Delicious and wonderful place! I love sitting outside during the summer. Wonderful place to hang out or have a date. My boyfriend and I often come here to enjoy delicious pizza and chicken! Love this place!!!!! The Oreo shake is delicious and I often have Brussel sprouts.

I have been meaning to eat at Friars roadside for sometime now and have the opportunity to just recently and I was not disappointed! I ordered the original chicken sandwich. It was huge! It was juicy! It was perfectly crunchy and well seasoned.
I ate outside. They have a cute outdoor eating area.
They also sell barbecue and I’ll have to try it next time. My bar for barbecue is very high, but the on-site smoker gave me hope and I’m always looking for a good barbecue spot.

We have been meaning to stop by for a while now, and finally did. And man, we should have stopped in sooner! I expected it to be a fried chicken place, but was delighted by the smell of smoked BBQ meats and fresh pizza.
We got the fried chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, smoked brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork and chili. Everything was delicious! For a treat we got the peanut butter sundae, and I would go back just for that!
We will definitely be returning soon! Can’t recommend enough!

The ribs were outstanding! We got the full rack for three people, and the outside was wonderfully crisp and inside tender w lots of meat. We probably would’ve had leftovers (& taken a picture) except we were super hungry. My husband said the pulled pork sandwich was equally fantastic and generous. We all sampled the greens, and even those who don’t traditionally like them were sold. The cornbread was standout, and next time we’ll try the spicy slaw and brisket.

The pizza is always good and tasty with fresh ingredients. The fried chicken is super crispy and flavorful one of the best I’ve had. The wedges are also crispy on the outside and soft inside. Highly recommend

Ordered the beef rib for delivery, and man was I pleasantly surprised. The charring on the top layer was just right. The meat was tender but not too tender where it falls apart on you. The the rib was so juicy and well marbled. If you are not a fan of fat, then you may want to skip, but I love my beef rib fatty and full of flavor. This meal reminded me so much of the beef ribs that my mom would make. Every bite was full of flavor. I added some Ethiopian Mitmita spice powder to it and the taste just went up another level, no sauce was needed. Fryer’s may just have become my primary beef rib spot going forward. To the Chef, I say….Well Done Sir/Ma’am!!!!

I am grateful to have finally made it over here yesterday. Had heard the food here is great and they were not kidding. The tenders are so nicely breaded and tasty. I also recommend the pulled pork, collard greens, biscuits and definitely the very homemade mac and cheese. The too-damn-good mac and cheese, probably the best I’ve had anywhere other than Mid-Atlantic Seafood. I know I will visit more often and again, glad to finally stop by here when I usually have been driving right by and remaining curious about it.

We ended up driving by on the way to DC and I haven’t had food this good in a while! The last bbq place we ate at last week was a disappointment and FRYERSSS!! Fryers is so good! Worth every penny!
The fries were so fresh and crispy and crunchy on the outside and slightly soft in the middle. Not dry or over done.
The Sliced Texas Brisket was so damn good! Lots of flavor and super tender with a rim of charred crispiness on the top! The sauce (Kansas City) went really well with the brisket.
The Chopped Texas Brisket Sandwich was so good! The bread alone was fresh and so soft and warm. The brisket, again, you can’t miss with that. The pickle added to the flavor and the crunch set it off.
The Pulled Pork Pizza was delicious! I’m used to “traditional” pizzas and don’t normally pick meats outside of the typical pepperoni or sausage and the Pulled Pork looked so good I had to give it a try. You can’t lose at $5 a slice. They even heat it to perfection with the singed bits on the crust. It was so warm and soft and brittle. The pulled pork on it was crumbly and very flavorful!
The atmosphere is pleasing. I’m from the country south so to sit outside and hear the cars going by in the distance felt like home. You could smell the smokey meats and it had an outback, bbq, cookout feel to it. Lots of space and plenty of seats.
The price is what wrapped it all up!! You won’t regret spending funds here and tipping was well worth it. The staff brought our food to us and were extremely polite and helpful!
Don’t miss out! We’ll be back.
